Abstract
Research skills are crucial for students in higher education as they play a pivotal role in fostering critical thinking, problem-solving, and the ability to contribute to the creation and development of new knowledge or innovation. The shift to the new normal, which includes changes in teaching and learning arrangements, requires adjustments in how research skills are taught, practiced, and evaluated. Here are some considerations for adapting to the evolving educational landscape. This study aimed to 1) investigate the conditions affecting the research skills of tertiary students 2) examine an online assessment model of the research skills of higher education students, and 3) study the appropriateness and feasibility of the online assessment model for the research skills of undergraduate and graduate students enrolled in research subjects, Faculty of Education of Ramkhamhaeng University. The target group of this research is There are 576 undergraduate students and 10 master's students, totaling 586 students, studying research subjects. The research tools include: Questionnaire about research conditions, interview form, e-assessment usability evaluation form, and feasibility and suitability evaluation form for online assessment of research skills. The research findings were as follows: 1) showed that most students had a high level of research skill. The mean ranged from 3.97 to 4.52, and the overall mean was at a high level. 2) A study of the online assessment model including Edpuzzle, Mentimeter, and Classkick, which are referred to as online assessment systems, or e-Assessment. The results of the evaluation of the use of the online assessment system e-Assessment on a total of 20 tertiary was shown to be at a very good level. 3) Regarding the appropriateness and feasibility of the online assessment model for research skills, it was found that the question of "appropriateness", the item with the highest average score was "Can be used by many users and can work together as a group or team." As for "Feasibility", it was found that "Can be used by many users and can work together as a group or team," and "Can provide feedback at any time and can be done continuously,". The results of this research can indeed serve as valuable information for the development of students' research skills and as a guide for evaluating online knowledge and other skills in subsequent courses.
