Abstract

ในการให้บริการในระบบกระจาย เช่น อินเทอร์เน็ต ผู้ให้บริการจะประกาศบริการของตนเพื่อให้ผู้ใช้บริการทั่วไปสามารถค้นหาและเรียกใช้บริการได้ แต่เนื่องจากผู้ให้บริการแต่ละรายทำการประกาศคำอธิบายบริการในรูปแบบที่แตกต่างกันไป ด้วยเหตุนี้ ผู้ใช้บริการจึงต้องพิจารณาบริการบนพื้นฐานของคำอธิบายบริการที่แตกต่างกัน ทั้งในด้านข้อมูลและรูปแบบที่นำเสนอ อันเป็นที่มาของปัญหาต่างๆ ทั้งในการค้นหาการพิจารณาและการเปรียบเทียบบริการ บริการไดเรกเทอรีจึงได้รับการเสนอขึ้นเพื่อแก้ไขปัญหาดังกล่าว โดยการกำหนดมาตรฐานในการประกาศและการค้นหาบริการ แต่เนื่องจากบริการไดเรกเทอรีกำหนดเพียงโครงสร้างของคำอธิบายบริการเหล่านั้น โดยไม่ได้กำหนดข้อมูลภายในคำอธิบายบริการหรือหากมีการกำหนด ข้อมูลก็ยังมีอยู่จำกัด ทำให้คำอธิบายบริการของผู้ให้บริการแต่ละรายยังคงมีข้อมูลที่แตกต่างกันหรือให้ข้อมูลไม่เพียงพอแก่ผู้ใช้บริการ ยังผลให้เกิดปัญหาในการพิจารณาและเปรียบเทียบบริการอยู่เช่นเดิม วิทยานิพนธ์นี้มีจุดประสงค์ที่จะนำเสนอแบบจำลองของคำอธิบายบริการในระบบกระจาย เพื่อให้เป็นแนวทางสำหรับผู้ให้บริการในการประกาศคำโฆษณาบริการ และสำหรับผู้ใช้บริการในการทำความเข้าใจและเปรียบเทียบบริการต่างๆ แบบจำลองคำอธิบายบริการนี้มีที่มาจากการสำรวจคำโฆษณาของส่วนประกอบซอฟต์แวร์และเว็บเซอร์วิสบนอินเทอร์เน็ต ประกอบกับการสำรวจผลงานวิจัยต่างๆ โดยคำอธิบายบริการที่ได้จะเป็นคำอธิบายเชิงคุณลักษณะและจะเน้นที่คุณลักษณะโดยทั่วไปที่ไม่ขึ้นกับโดเมนของบริการ นอกจากนี้วิทยานิพนธ์จะนำเสนอการประยุกต์ใช้แบบจำลองที่ได้กับบริการไดเรกเทอรียูดีดีไอสำหรับเว็บเซอร์วิส รวมทั้งจะแสดงแนวทางการใช้งานและประโยชน์ที่ได้จากการประกาศคุณลักษณะบางอย่าง ซึ่งเกี่ยวข้องกับข้อกำหนดเกี่ยวกับบริการ โดยข้อกำหนดเหล่านี้จะให้ข้อมูลเกี่ยวกับความหมายและพฤติกรรมของบริการโดยใช้รูปแบบของออนโทโลจี ทำให้คำอธิบายบริการมีรายละเอียดเพิ่มขึ้น และช่วยในการค้นหาบริการที่ตรงกับความต้องการของผู้ใช้บริการได้มากขึ้นได้

Other Abstract (Other language abstract of ETD)

In distributed systems such as the Internet, service providers will publish their services for service consumers to discover and invoke. Since service advertisements have different formats and contents, service consumers will have difficulties when searching and comparing services. Standard directory services are proposed to help with these problems but such standards define only the structure for service descriptions without defining the contents. Even if the contents are defined, they are of limited details. Service consumers still have problems with different or limited contents of service descriptions when comparing service advertisements. This thesis proposes a service description model that can be used as a guideline for service providers to advertise their services and for service consumers to understand and compare services. The model is a result of a survey on software components and Web services that are advertised on the Internet, and a literature survey of related work. The model will focus on domain-independent attributes. The thesis will show how to apply the model to UDDI directory services for Web services and how to benefit from publishing some attributes that relate to specifications about the services. The specifications will give more detail about semantics and behaviour of the services using an ontological representation, and will help discover services that better fit service consumers' requirements.
