Abstract

ศึกษาความแตกต่างของโครงสร้างกระดูกระหว่างโลมาลายจุด โลมากระโดด และโลมาลายแถบ ในสกุล Stenella บริเวณน่านน้ำไทย จากตัวอย่างโลมาที่พบเกยตื้นบริเวณชายฝั่งอันดามันทั้งหมด โดยมีโลมาลายจุด 13 ตัวอย่าง โลมากระโดด 17 ตัวอย่าง และโลมาลายแถบ 22 ตัวอย่าง ทำการวัดสัดส่วนโลมาทั้งลักษณะภายนอก และสัดส่วนโครงกระดูกของกะโหลกหัวโดยใช้เวอร์เนียคาลิปเปอร์ ด้วยวิธีวัดแบบจุดต่อจุด พบว่าสัดส่วนระหว่างความยาวจากจะงอยปากถึงโหนกหัวต่อความยาวตัวทั้งหมด สามารถใช้แยกโลมากระโดดออกจากโลมาลายจุดและโลมาลายแถบได้อย่างชัดเจน จากการนำสัดส่วนต่างๆ ของกะโหลกหัวมาวิเคราะห์ด้วย Cluster Analysis พบว่าสัดส่วนที่สามารถแยกโลมาทั้ง 3 ชนิดออกจากกันได้อย่างชัดเจน ได้แก่ สัดส่วนระหว่างความกว้างของจะงอยปากต่อความยาวหัวทั้งหมด สัดส่วนระหว่างความสูงของกะโหลกหัวต่อความกว้างของกะโหลกหัว สัดส่วนระหว่างความสูงของกระดูกคอชิ้นที่ 1 ต่อความกว้างของกระดูกคอชิ้นที่ 1 และสัดส่วนระหว่างความยาวของปุ่มที่ยื่นออกมาด้านข้างของกระดูกคอชิ้นที่ 1 ต่อความสูงของกระดูกคอชิ้นที่ 1 การตรวจสอบอายุของโลมาพบว่า โลมาลายจุดมีอายุ 17-35 ปี มีความยาวอยู่ในช่วง187-212 เซนติเมตร โลมากระโดดมีอายุ 5-27 ปี มีความยาวอยู่ในช่วง 167-190 เซนติเมตร และโลมาลายแถบมีอายุ 3-26 ปี มีความยาวอยู่ในช่วง 181-228 เซนติเมตร

Other Abstract (Other language abstract of ETD)

Osteological differences between spotted, spinner and striped dolphins, Genus Stenella in Thai Waters were studied. All samples stranded along Andaman coast consisting of 13 spotted dolphins, 17 spinner dolphins and 22 striped dolphins. External, skull and skeleton measurements by vernier caliper (point-to-point) were performed. It was found that the proportion of snout to melon lenght and total length can separate spinner dolphin from spotted and striped dolphin. From various proportions of skull analyzed by cluster analysis, it was found the proportions that separate three species were proportion of rostrum width at base to condylobasal length, proportion of skull height to parietal width, proportion of atlas height to atlas width and proportion of lateral process length of atlas to atlas height. From age analysis it was shown that spotted dolphins are 17-35 years old having 187-212 cm length, spinner dolphins are 5-27 years old having 167-190 cm length and striped dolphins are 3-26 years old having 181-228 cm length.
