Abstract

งานวิจัยเรื่อง การสื่อสารและการปรับตัวของอาจารย์ต่างชาติในมหาวิทยาลัยไทย มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาถึงการปรับตัวของอาจารย์ต่างชาติ ศึกษาความสามารถทางการสื่อสารภายใต้วัฒนธรรมไทยของอาจารย์ต่างชาติ ศึกษาความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างความสามารถทางการสื่อสารและระดับการปรับตัวของอาจารย์ต่างชาติและศึกษาถึงปัจจัยอื่นๆ ที่มีผลต่อการปรับตัวของอาจารย์ต่างชาติ รูปแบบการวิจัยในครั้งนี้เป็นการวิจัยเชิงสำรวจเก็บข้อมูลจากแบบสอบถามจำนวน 104 ชุดและสัมภาษณ์เจาะลึกอาจารย์ต่างชาติเป็นจำนวน 30 คน ผลการวิจัยพบว่า 1. ปัจจัยที่มีความสัมพันธ์กับการปรับตัวของอาจารย์ต่างชาติ คือ ระยะเวลาที่อยู่ในประเทศไทย 2. ปัจจัยที่มีความสัมพันธ์ระดับความสามารถทางการสื่อสารภายใต้วัฒนธรรมไทยของอาจารย์ต่างชาติ คือ สัญชาติของอาจารย์ต่างชาติ และ ระยะเวลาที่อยู่ในประเทศไทย 3. ความสามารถทางความคิดและความสามารถทางอารมณ์และความรู้สึกไม่มีความสัมพันธ์กับการปรับตัวของอาจารย์ต่างชาติในขณะที่ ความสามารถทางด้านพฤติกรรมและความสามารถในการสื่อสารภายใต้วัฒนธรรมไทยโดยรวมมีความสัมพันธ์กับระดับการปรับตัวของอาจารย์ต่างชาติ 4. สัญชาติของเพื่อนสนิท พฤติกรรมการเปิดรับสื่อโทรทัศน์ พฤติกรรมการใช้อินเตอร์เนต และปัจจัยทางด้านสิ่งแวดล้อม ไม่มีความสัมพันธ์กับการปรับตัวของอาจารย์ต่างชาติ ในขณะที่สื่อวิทยุมีความสัมพันธ์กับการปรับตัวของอาจารย์ต่างชาติ

Other Abstract (Other language abstract of ETD)

This study was conducted to investigate the adjustment process of foreign lectures in Thai universities, communication competence of foreign lectures in Thai society, the relationship between communication competence and adjustment process and the factors that affected the adjustment process. This research was a survey research with two main tools, questionnaire and in-depth interview. The results were as follow 1. The factor affecting the foreign lectures' adjustment process was the period of being in Thailand 2. The factors affecting the foreign lecturers' communication competence were the nationality of lecturers and the period of being in Thailand 3. Levels of adjustment depended on behavioral competence and overall communication competence while cognitive competence and affective competence were not the factors that affected the levels of adjustment 4. Levels of adjustment depended on the consumption of radio while TV news watching behavior, use of Internet behavior, and the environmental factors werenot the factors that effected the levels of adjustment.
