Abstract
Most personality scales and inventories are self-report forms, and most academic predictions are based on aptitude test scores. In this article the author describes a personality assessment method based on peer ratings rather than self reports and shows how it can be used as a predictor of academic performance. The peerrating method is described step-by-step in detail so that the reader can construct, score, and evaluate his own peer-rating system. Several studies illustrating the effectiveness of peer ratings for prediction in adademic settings are reviewed.
