Abstract

งานวิจัยนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาและส่งเสริมการเดินเท้าจากบริเวณช่วงถนนอโศก ที่มีระบบขนส่งมวลชนบริเวณต้นถนนและปลายถนน ทั้งสามระบบ ได้แก่ ระบบรถไฟฟ้า BTS ระบบรถไฟฟ้า MRT และระบบเรือ โดยศึกษาการใช้พื้นที่ทางเท้าและพื้นที่ว่างสาธารณะ ของภาครัฐบาลและเอกชน บริเวณย่านพานิชยกรรมอโศก ณ ปัจจุบัน และทำการประมวลผลการคาดการณ์ความต้องการในการใช้พื้นที่ทางเท้าที่เพิ่มขึ้น เพื่อนำมาสรุปเป็นแนวทางการออกแบบทางเท้าบนถนนอโศกให้มีความเหมาะสมตามมาตรฐานสากลและสามารถรองรับปริมาณการสัญจรที่เพิ่มขึ้นในอนาคต ผลการศึกษาพบว่า การใช้พื้นที่ทางเท้า ณ ปัจจุบันมีปริมาณผู้ใช้พื้นที่ทางเท้าในเป็นจำนวนมาก อย่างไรก็ดีขนาดทางเท้าส่วนใหญ่ มิได้แคบจนเกินไปหากแต่ถูกรุกล้ำจากการตั้งวางขายสินค้าของพวกหาบเร่แผงลอยเป็นจำนวนมาก ประกอบกับปัญหาเรื่องการจัดวางตำแหน่งของสาธารณูปโภค อุปกรณ์ประกอบถนนและป้ายจราจรที่ขาดระบบระเบียบในการติดตั้ง ปัจจัยดังกล่าวส่งผลให้การใช้งานพื้นที่ทางเท้าไม่เต็มประสิทธิภาพและไม่เพียงพอต่อการรองรับการใช้งานของคนเดินเท้าในช่วงเวลาเร่งด่วนเวลาเช้า เที่ยง และเย็น ซึ่งจะมีปริมาณคนเดินเท้าเป็นจำนวนมากกว่าปกติ จากผลการวิเคราะห์ดังกล่าว งานวิจัยนี้ได้สรุปและคาดการณ์อัตราการเพิ่มของจำนวนประชากรภายในพื้นที่ศึกษา จากศักยภาพในการพัฒนาพื้นที่ย่านถนนอโศกในเชิงพาณิชยกรรม โดยคำนวณความต้องการทางเท้าจากความเป็นไปได้สูงสุดในการขยายตัวของพื้นที่อาคารตลอดสองฝั่งถนนอโศก ประกอบกับปริมาณผู้สัญจรจากโครงการระบบขนส่งมวลชนเชื่อมต่อท่าอากาศยานสุวรรณภูมิ (Airport Rail Link) จากนั้นจึงนำผลที่ได้มาทำการออกแบบพื้นที่ทางเท้าบนถนนอโศกให้เพียงพอและมีบรรยากาศที่น่าเดินตามมาตรฐานสากล โดยมุ่งหวังให้เป็นต้นแบบของการออกแบบพื้นที่ทางเท้าและพื้นที่ว่างด้านหน้าอาคาร ให้เกิดประโยชน์สูงสุด และสามารถส่งเสริมการใช้การสัญจรทางเท้าแทนการใช้ยานพาหนะส่วนบุคคลในพื้นที่อื่นของกรุงเทพมหานครต่อไป

Other Abstract (Other language abstract of ETD)

This research aims to study and promote pedestrianization along Asoke road which contains three systems of mass MRT and boats. It focuses on the analysis of present usages of sidewalk and public spaces along the commercial strip, then predicts the future demand for sidewalks in order to make an appropriate design guideline that can meet universal standard and can hold an increasing number of pedestrians in the future The result of the study shows that, even with a large number of pedestrian, the sizing of sidewalks on Asoke road and adequate. An inconvenience use of sidewalk generally comes from the obstruction of street venders and inappropriate locations of the infrastructure, street furniture and traffic signs. These factors lead to an inefficiently use of sidewalk especially during morning, noon and evening rush which tend to have more pedestrians than normal From the future study, the research predicts future demand for sidewalk for an increasing number of inhabitants generated by an increasing number of building space for commercial development, plus an overflow of pedestrians from the up coming system of the Airport rail link which locates just north of Asoke district. The conclusion leads to the development of a design guideline for future sidewalk of Asoke district of which, the author hope t can be a prototype of sidewalk and public space design to promote the pedestrianization of other areas of Bangkok in the future.
