Abstract

ในการวิเคราะห์เพื่อเปรียบเทียบค่าเฉลี่ยของประชากรหลายๆ ประชากรว่ามีความแตกต่างกันอย่างมีนัยสำคัญหรือไม่นั้น มีระเบียบวิธีในการทดสอบหลายวิธีด้วยกัน ซึ่งแต่ละวิธีก็มีความยากง่ายและความสะดวกในการนำไปใช้ต่างกัน วิทยานิพนธ์นี้ได้ทำการเปรียบเทียบระเบียบวิธีการต่างๆ ที่ใช้ทดสอบความมีนัยสำคัญของความแตกต่างระหว่างค่าเฉลี่ยของประชากร โดยมีจุดมุ่งหมายเพื่อประเมินว่า วิธีใดจะให้ผลสรุปแม่นยำและถูกต้องในการทดสอบมากกว่าวิธีอื่นๆ โดยพิจารณาจากความผิดทั้ง 3 ชนิด ที่เกิดขึ้นในการทดสอบแต่ละวิธีว่าวิธีใดมีความผิดเกิดน้อยที่สุด ความผิดทั้ง 3 ชนิดนี้ ได้แก่ ความผิดชนิดที่ 1 (Type I Error) ความผิดชนิดที่ 2 (Type II Error) และความผิดชนิดที่ 3 (Type III Error) ซึ่งเป็นความผิดที่เกิดจากการสรุปผลความแตกต่างระหว่างค่าเฉลี่ยของประชากรตรงข้ามกับความเป็นจริง อันเป็นผลเนื่องจากตัวอย่างที่ใช้ไม่เป็นตัวแทนที่ดีของประชากร ในการศึกษาวิจัยนี้ได้นำข้อมูลจากตารางเลขสุ่ม มาทำการวิเคราะห์ในลักษณะเป็นข้อมูลแจกแจงทางเดียวและข้อมูลแจกแจงสองทาง และทำการทดสอบความมีนัยสำคัญของความแตกต่างระหว่างค่าเฉลี่ยของประชากรโดยใช้ระเบียบวิธีการต่างๆ แล้วนำผลที่ได้จากการทดสอบทั้งหมดทุกวิธีมาเปรียบเทียบกัน ซึ่งผลที่ได้จากการวิจัยสามารถสรุปได้ว่า ในการทดสอบความมีนัยสำคัญของความแตกต่างระหว่างค่าเฉลี่ยของประชากร 2 ประชากร วิธีของ Murphys gap LSD สามารถให้ผลสรุปหรือผลการทดสอบที่เชื่อถือได้ดีกว่าวิธีอื่น ทั้งยังเป็นวิธีที่มีความสะดวกในการนำไปใช้พอสมควรอีกด้วย สำหรับในกรณีที่ผู้วิเคราะห์มีเวลาจำกัด และต้องการความรวดเร็วหรือต้องการทราบผลอย่างคร่าวๆ ในการทดสอบความมีนัยสำคัญของความแตกต่างระหว่างค่าเฉลี่ยของประชากรคู่ใดๆ วิธีทดสอบโดยใช้ Least Significant Difference (LSD), Tukey’s W-Procedure และ Scheffe’s method เป็นวิธีที่มีความสะดวกและง่ายในการนำไปใช้ เพราะเป็นการคำนวณค่าสถิติ (statistic) เพียงค่าเดียวในการใช้เป็นตัวตัดสินความมีนัยสำคัญของความแตกต่างระหว่างค่าเฉลี่ยของประชากร 2 ประชากรใดๆ แต่จากผลที่ได้จากการวิจัยนี้สามารถสรุปได้ว่า โดยทั่วๆ ไปวิธีของ Least Significant Difference test ให้ผลสรุปหรือผลการทดสอบที่น่าเชื่อถือได้ดีกว่าอีก 2 วิธีที่กล่าวแล้ว

Other Abstract (Other language abstract of ETD)

There are many methods for testing the significant difference between the population means. The application of each method is different depends on the data and other information given. This thesis is trying to compare these various methods of testing the difference between the population means by considering the three types of error which are Type I error, Type II error, and Type III error. Type III error occurs because of the inaccuracy of the difference between population means resulted from biased random samples. The purpose of this thesis is to justify which one of those methods mentioned gives the most accurate effect. The data used in this research are from the random number table classified once one way and then two ways. Various methods are used to test the significant difference between the means. The results are then compared in order to clarify the most reliable method. It is found that Murphys gap LSD is the most solid method for testing the significant difference between two population means and there is much flexibility in the application of this method also. In case of limited time and only approximate results are needed, Lease Significant Difference (LSD),. Tukey’s W-Procedure and Scheffe’s method which only one statistic is used to justify the significant difference between any two population means are feasible to use. It is also proved in this research that LSD is the most suitable method (among those mentioned) to test the significant difference between any two population means.
