Abstract

การศึกษาเรื่อง อัตลักษณ์ที่สร้างขึ้นบนโฮมเพจของวัยรุ่นไทยที่อาศัยอยู่ในบริบทสังคมไทยและ วัยรุ่นไทยที่อาศัยอยู่ในบริบทสังคมอเมริกัน เป็นการวิจัยเชิงพรรณนาวิเคราะห์ โดยใช้วิธีการรวบรวมข้อมูลจากโฮมเพจส่วนบุคคลของวัยรุ่นไทยในเว็บไซด์ http://www.geocities.com. การวิจัยครั้งนี้มีจุดมุ่งหมายเพื่อค้นหาอัตลักษณ์ที่สร้างขึ้นบนโฮมเพจของ วัยรุ่นไทยที่อาศัยอยู่ในบริบทสังคมไทยและวัยรุ่นไทยที่อาศัยอยู่ในบริบท สังคมอเมริกัน ตลอดจนเพื่อค้นหาและเปรียบเทียบบรรทัดฐานภายใน (internal norms) และภายนอก (external norms) บริบทการสื่อสารผ่านสื่อกลางคอมพิวเตอร์ ที่กำหนดอัตลักษณ์ที่สร้างขึ้นบนโฮมเพจ ระเบียบวิธีที่ใช้คือการวิเคราะห์เนื้อหา (content analysis) เพื่อศึกษาถึงอัตลักษณ์ ตลอดจนใช้การสังเกตโฮมเพจแบบไม่มีส่วนร่วม (field observation) และสร้างแบบสอบถามวัยรุ่น เพื่อศึกษาบรรทัดฐานภายในและภายนอกบริบทการสื่อสารผ่านสื่อกลางคอมพิวเตอร์ ผลการวิจัยพบว่า อัตลักษณ์ทางเพศที่สร้างขึ้นบนโฮมเพจของวัยรุ่นไทยที่อาศัยอยู่ในบริบทสังคม ไทยและวัยรุ่นไทยที่อาศัยอยู่ในบริบทสังคมอเมริกันมีความเหมือนกัน กล่าวคือมีงานอดิเรกที่เกี่ยวข้องกับคอมพิวเตอร์ ได้แก่ การท่องอินเทอร์เน็ต การสร้างเว็บเพจ การเขียนโปรแกรมคอมพิวเตอร์ สนใจในสิ่งที่เป็นสากล (internationalization) และทันสมัย (modernization) ศึกษาในเมเจอร์คอมพิวเตอร์ ให้ความสำคัญกับครอบครัว คนรัก และเพื่อนอย่างไรก็ตามพบว่าบรรทัดฐานภายในและภายนอกบริบทการสื่อสารผ่านสื่อ กลางคอมพิวเตอร์มีความแตกต่างกัน กล่าวคือ บรรทัดฐานภายในบริบทการสื่อสารผ่านสื่อกลางคอมพิวเตอร์จะต้องเปิดเผยข้อมูล ที่เป็นด้านบวก (positive information) สะท้อนอัตลักษณ์ทางด้านดี เช่น ความมีสมบัติผู้ดี (decency) ความบริสุทธิ์ไร้เดียงสา (naivete) ความเป็นคนดี (goodness) ความเป็นมิตร (friendship) และความจริงใจน่าคบหา (trust) นอกจากนี้พบว่าจะต้องสื่อสารโดยการใช้ภาษาอังกฤษ ด้วยภาษาที่ไม่เป็นทางการ ผ่านทางที่อยู่ (e-mail address) จากผลการวิจัยสามารถสรุปได้ว่า การสื่อสารผ่านสื่อกลางคอมพิวเตอร์มีลักษณะเป็นชุมชนเสมือนที่มีบรรทัดฐาน เฉพาะ อภิปรายได้ว่า ชุมชนเสมือนเป็นสิ่งที่มีอยู่จริง

"The Identity Constructed on Homepage of Thai Juvenile in Thailand and in USA" is an analytical research. The objectives of this research are to study the identity constructed on homepage of Thai jvenile in Thailand and in USA and to study the internal and external norms of computer-medicated communication. Data was gathered from personal homepage of Thai juvenile in Thailand and in USA on http://www.geocities.com. The contest analysis technique was applied to discover the identity. Besides, field observation and questionnaires were employed to study the internal and external norms of computer-mediated communication. The findings indicate that the sexual identity of Thai Juvenile in Thailand and in USA is identical. Their hobbies are surfing on the internet, web design and computer programming. They are interested in the internationalization and modernization, major in computer, emphasize their family, love and friends. However, the internal and external norms of computer-mediated communication are different. For the internal norms, they prefer to reveal their positive information to others in order to reflect their positive identity such as decency, naivete, goodness, friendship and trust. Furthermore, they use English to communicate each other via e-mail. The language is informal and shortened. The research result implies that the computer-mediated communication is a virtual community that includes the particular norms and does exist.
