Abstract
วิทยานิพนธ์ฉบับนี้ มุ่งศึกษากลวิธีการปรุงบทละครเสภาเรื่องขุนช้างขุนแผนของกรมศิลปากร ตั้งแต่ พ.ศ. 2492-ปัจจุบัน(พ.ศ. 2562) จำนวน 59 สำนวน และศึกษาคุณค่าของบทละครดังกล่าว โดยบทละครเสภาเรื่องขุนช้างขุนแผนที่นำมาศึกษา จำแนกได้ตามรูปแบบการแสดงเป็น 2 ประเภท ได้แก่ บทละครเสภา 33 สำนวน และบทเสภากึ่งพันทาง 26 สำนวน ผลการศึกษาพบกลวิธีการปรุงบทละครเสภาเรื่องขุนช้างขุนแผนของกรมศิลปากร 3 ประการ ประการแรกคือ การปรุงเรื่อง เป็นการเลือก เนื้อเรื่องจากบทเสภาเรื่องขุนช้างขุนแผน ฉบับหอพระสมุดวชิรญาณ และบทเสภาเรื่องขุนช้างขุนแผน ภาคปลาย มาสร้างเป็นบทละครตอนต่าง ๆ บทละครแต่ละตอนสร้างขึ้นจากปมขัดแย้งของตัวละคร ความสัมพันธ์รักของตัวละคร บทบาทเด่นของตัวละครเอก อนุภาคที่โดดเด่น และตัวละครต่างเชื้อชาติซึ่งทำให้เกิดกระบวนแสดงแบบพันทาง บทละครกลุ่มนี้ยังดัดแปลงเหตุการณ์ และตัวละครจากเรื่องขุนช้างขุนแผนดั้งเดิม เพื่อให้มีเนื้อหากระชับ เข้าใจง่าย และเหมาะแก่การแสดงละคร อีกทั้งสืบทอดเนื้อหาเกี่ยวกับวัฒนธรรมประเพณีไทยแทรกไว้ในบทละคร ประการที่สอง คือ การปรุงภาษาและกลวิธีการประพันธ์ บทละครเสภาเรื่องขุนช้างขุนแผนของกรมศิลปากรเรียบเรียงภาษาและกลวิธีการประพันธ์จากบทประพันธ์ซึ่งมีที่มาจากวรรณคดีโบราณเรื่องขุนช้างขุนแผน ได้แก่ บทเสภาเรื่องขุนช้างขุนแผน และบทละครเรื่องขุนช้างขุนแผนสำนวนโบราณ ควบคู่กับบทที่กรมศิลปากรแต่งใหม่ ซึ่งจำแนกได้ 3 กลุ่ม ได้แก่ กลุ่มบทละครที่ปรับมาจากบทเสภา กลุ่มบทละครที่ปรับใช้บทเสภาผสานกับบทที่กรมศิลปากรแต่งขึ้นใหม่ และกลุ่มบทละครที่ปรับบทเสภาและบทละครสำนวนเก่าผสานกับบทที่กรมศิลปากรแต่งขึ้นใหม่ และประการที่สาม คือ การปรุงวิธีการนำเสนอ เป็นการกำหนดการนำเสนอด้วยองค์ประกอบทางการแสดงไว้ในบทละคร ได้แก่ การบรรจุเพลงร้อง เพลงหน้าพาทย์ และเพลงบรรเลง ให้เหมาะแก่บทละครเสภาและบทละครเสภากึ่งพันทาง การกำหนดบทขับเสภาแทรกในบทละคร ทั้งเสภาไทยและเสภาภาษาตามเชื้อชาติของตัวละคร การกำหนดเจรจาซึ่งมีทั้งเจรจาด้น และการกำหนดบทเจรจาร้อยแก้วและร้อยกรองไว้ในบท การแทรกบทที่เอื้ือต่อการแสดงนาฏการที่งดงาม การแบ่งองก์และแบ่งฉาก รวมถึงการแทรกข้อความกำกับวิธีแสดง อันทำให้บทละครมีองค์ประกอบสมบูรณ์ตามขนบละครเสภา การปรุงบทละครเสภาเรื่องขุนช้างขุนแผนของกรมศิลปากรแสดงให้เห็นการสืบสานองค์ความรู้ด้านวรรณคดี นาฏศิลป์ ดนตรี และ การขับเสภาไว้ในบทละคร ผสานกับการสร้างสรรค์กระบวนแสดงและองค์ประกอบใหม่ ทำให้บทละครเป็นบทที่ใช้แสดงละครเสภาให้สอดคล้องกับขนบของการแสดง และเสนอเรื่องขุนช้างขุนแผนแก่ผู้ชมอย่างเหมาะสมกับยุคสมัย กลวิธีการปรุงบททั้ง 3 ด้านข้างต้น ทำให้บทละครเสภาเรื่องขุนช้างขุนแผนของกรมศิลปากรมีคุณค่า 5 ประการ ได้แก่ คุณค่าด้านวรรณคดี บทละครรักษาเนื้อหาเรื่องขุนช้างขุนแผนไว้เป็นจำนวนมาก สืบทอดฉันทลักษณ์กลอนอย่างหลากหลาย รักษาวรรคทองจากบทเสภาเรื่องขุนช้างขุนแผน ฉบับหอพระสมุดวชิรญาณ รวมถึงแสดงศิลปะการประพันธ์อย่างงดงาม คุณค่าด้านการแสดง บทละครมีองค์ประกอบตามขนบละครเสภา บทละครประกอบด้วยกระบวนแสดงอย่างหลากหลาย บทละครมีองค์ประกอบสมบูรณ์พร้อมแก่การแสดง มีเนื้อหาหลากหลายให้เลือกแสดง รวมถึงมีบทหลายตอนและหลายสำนวนให้ใช้แสดงตามวาระโอกาส คุณค่าด้านการให้คติในการดำเนินชีวิต บทละครเสนอเนื้อหาที่ให้คติหลายประการ เช่น คติเรื่องการปฏิบัติตนตามหน้าที่ และคติเรื่องความแค้นที่นำไปสู่หายนะ คุณค่าด้านการบันทึกและนำเสนอวัฒนธรรมไทยโบราณ เช่น ประเพณีและพิธีกรรม หรือข้าวของเครื่องใช้ ที่มุ่งให้ปรากฏในการแสดง นอกจากนี้ยังมีคุณค่าในการแสดงให้เห็นคุณค่าอมตะของเรื่องขุนช้างขุนแผนในฐานะวรรณคดีเอกของไทย กล่าวคือ บทละครแสดงให้เห็นเนื้อหาที่ดีเด่นของเรื่องขุนช้างขุนแผนหลากมิติ เช่น เหตุการณ์ที่สนุกสนาน ตัวละครที่มีบทบาทแตกต่างกัน อนุภาคที่เป็นเอกลักษณ์ วรรคทองจาก บทเสภาเรื่องขุนช้างขุนแผน ฉบับหอพระสมุดวชิรญาณที่ยังคงคุณค่าทางภาษาจนเป็นที่ประจักษ์ตลอดมา ตลอดจนสาระของเรื่องขุนช้างขุนแผนที่ยังคงสัมพันธ์กับวิถีวัฒนธรรมไทยในปัจจุบัน

This thesis aims to study the composition and examine the literary value of Khun Chang Khun Phaen Sepha Dance Drama Texts by the Fine Arts Department from the year 1949 to the present, which is comprised of 59 texts. The chosen Khun Chang Khun Phaen Sepha Dance Drama Texts are categorized into two performance types: 33 Lakhon Sepha texts and 26 Lakhon Sepha Kueng Phanthang texts. The result of this study indicates that there are three composition techniques in the Fine Arts Department. The first is the composition of the story, which consists of the selection and implementation of the storyline from Vajirayana Library’s Khun Chang Khun Phaen and the final parts of Khun Chang Khun Phaen. Dramatic texts in this category are of modified events and characters from the original Khun Chang Khun Phaen in order to create a laconic storyline befitting a play. The text also assimilated Thai culture and tradition into the play. Second, the composition of the register and techniques, These texts incorporated the register and techniques from the original Khun Chang Khun Paen texts. The texts can be categorized into three groups: the drama texts that were taken from the Sepha texts, the original Sepha texts combined with the Fine Arts Department’s new composition, and the combination of the original Sepha texts, the original drama texts, and Fine Arts Department’s new composition. Third, the composition of the portrayal is comprised of the integration of various performance elements into the play by adding vocal songs, Na phat songs, and instrumental songs that are appropriate for Sepha plays and Lakhon Sepha Kueng Panthang texts. The addition of the Sepha verse into the play and assigning the verse respectively to certain characters' ethnicity. The addition of improvisation-based dialogues and script-based dialogues in prose form and verse form, the addition of the texts befitting for the dramatic performance, the Arrangement of acts and scenes, and the implementation of stage direction in the texts. Thus, making the dramatic text complete according to Sepha play convention. The composition of Khun Chang Khun Paen Sepha Dance Drama texts of the Fine Arts Department represents the continuation of literature, dancing arts, music, and Sepha; then associating them with the creation of the new dramatic pattern and various new elements. Which, creates harmony within the performance convention, displaying Khun Chang Khun Phaen to the audience appropriately with the era. The three aforementioned compositional techniques are the factors that grant 5 essential values for “Khun Chang Khun Phaen” Sepha Dance Drama Texts by the Fine Arts Department, hence the following: First concerns literary value, the dramatic text preserved a great amount of the original Khun Chang Khun Phaen content, and inherited the literary devices, and the iconic lines from Vajirayana library’s Khun Chang Khun Phaen Sepha texts. The composition techniques preserved the grand portrayal of the art of literary composition. Second, the performance value, the dramatic texts consist of elements according to the Sepha Dance Drama convention, in which the texts have various dramatic patterns, appropriate and excellent for display. Third, the life value, the stories portrayed contribute various life lessons. Fourth, the cultural record and representation value, theses texts illustrate traditional Thai culture, be it traditions, rites, tools, and goods of the olden times. And lastly, the texts reflect the value of the timeless Khun Chang Khun Phaen literature, which is known as one of the Thai masterpieces; the work represents the exquisite content of Khun Chang Khun Phaen in many dimensions such as enjoyable moments, the variety of characters, and the unique motifs. The message of the story that pertains to Thai culture and tradition. And lastly, the iconic line of Vajirayana library’s Khun Chang Khun Phaen that touched the hearts of the Thais to this day.
