Abstract

วิทยานิพนธ์ฉบับนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์ที่จะศึกษาถึงปัจจัยที่เสริมสร้างความสัมพันธ์ทางเศรษฐกิจระหว่างไทยกับสหภาพเมียนมาร์ระหว่าง ค.ศ.1989 ถึง ค.ศ.1995โดยนำเรื่องการลงทุนตานธุรกิจโรงแรมเป็นกรณีศึกษา ระเบียบวิธีศึกษาใช้การค้นคว้าจากเอกสารประกอบกับการสัมภาษณ์นักลงทุนไทยผู้ไปลงทุนด้านโรงแรมในสหภาพเมียนมาร์รวม 4 รายจากทั้งหมด 6 ราย และใช้แนวทางการวิเคราะห์เชิงระบบมาวิเคราะห์ข้อมูลที่ได้จากการค้นคว้า ผลการศึกษาพบว่าปัจจัยสำคัญที่ดึงดูดให้เกิดการลงทุนด้านธุรกิจโรงแรมในสหภาพเมียนมาร์นั้นมีทั้งจากทางด้านสหภาพเมียนมาร์เองและจากทางด้านนักลงทุนไทย สำหรับปัจจัยทางด้านสหภาพเมียนมาร์ประกอบด้วยการเปิดประเทศซึ่งส่งผลให้มีการออกกฎหมายเพื่อรับการลงทุนจากต่างประเทศ การตั้งคณะกรรมการการลงทุนต่างประเทศ กฎหมายว่าด้วยการโรงแรมและการท่องเที่ยว การแก้ไขกฎระเบียบต่าง ๆ แสะการพัฒนาโครงสร้างพื้นฐานทางกายภาพ และทางสังคมเพี่อรองรับการขยายตัวของอุตสาหกรรมท่องเที่ยว ส่วนปัจจัยทางด้านนักลงทุนไทยได้แก่ ศักยภาพด้าน เงินลงทุน ความสามารถในการประกอบการและการบริหารธุรกิจโรงแรม รวมทั้งการคาดการณ์ถึงผลตอบแทนที่จะได้รับจากการลงทุนในระยะยาว นอกจากนี้ ปัจจัยสนับสนุนทางอ้อมที่สำคัญคือความสัมพันธ์ที่ดีระหว่างรัฐบาลของประเทศทั้งสอง

Other Abstract (Other language abstract of ETD)

The objective of this thesis is to investigate the supportive factors of an economic relations between Thailand and the Union of Myanmar during the years 1989 - 1995. An investment in the hotel business in the Union of Myanmar is the case study. Documentary research as well as in-depth interview with 4 of 6 Thai businessmen who invest in the hotel business in the Union of Myanmar are methodology employed, and data are analyzed by a system analysis. Findings indicate that essential pull factors of the hotel investment in the Union of Myanmar are in both the Union of Myanmar land Thai investors sides. For the Union of Myanmar, they are comprised of an open door policy which causes the government to issue the Myanmar Foreign Investment Law in 1988 and to set up a Foreign Investment Commission as well as Laws concerning the hotel business and tourism. Moreover, various regulations are amended. Physical and social infrastructures are developed for an expansion of tourism industry. Factors from the Thai investors are their financial potentialities, their entrepreneurial and managerial capabilities in the hotel business, and the positive estimation of internal rate of return. However, an indirect supportive factor is a good relations between the Thai and governments.
