Abstract
Background: Given the demand for vaccination coverage to ease the pandemic situation and restore normal life in the university, evidence for examining the level of knowledge, attitudes, acceptance, and willingness to pay (WTP) for Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) vaccine among undergraduate students is required. Therefore, this study examined the level of those aspects among undergraduate students. Methods: A cross-sectional survey study was carried out among 434 participants between March 1, 2022, and March 31, 2022. An online selfadministered, anonymous questionnaire was used to assess knowledge, attitudes, acceptance, and WTP for the COVID-19 vaccines. Results: Respondents had good knowledge, and about 66.2% of the students had a positive attitude toward COVID-19 vaccines. For acceptance and WTP, between 34.6% and 97.0% of the respondents were willing to get vaccinated if it is free of charge, while about 6.0–38.9% of the participants were willing to pay to get vaccinated against COVID-19. Conclusion: Undergraduate students would be willing to pay and get vaccinated especially for the mRNA vaccine because of higher effectiveness and greater perception of safety than the virus viral vector and inactivated vaccines. Future studies should be investigated regarding those aspects for the COVID-19 vaccines within the general Thai population.
