Abstract

Background: GAS questionnaire is constructed to measure feelings towards women’ own genitals in a broader spectrum. Thai language GAS questionnaire will be useful for clinical and research purpose.

Objectives: The aim of this study was study the reliability and validate the Thai version GAS questionnaire.

Materials and methods: Ninety Thai women attending the gynecologic outpatient clinic at King Chulalongkorn Memorial hospital were recruited between July 2017 to June 2018 in this study. Ten participants dropped out because they did not answer the second questionnaire. The original English-version of GAS questionnaire was translated into Thai version and backward translated by another linguist. Then the content of questionnaire was validated by the two urogynecologists. After the informed consent were done, the patients were asked to complete the Thai version GAS questionnaire and Thai version female sexual function index (FSFI) at first visit and only the Thai version GAS questionnaire at 2-week interval (sent back by mail).

Results: The mean + SD of age was 33.85 + 6.97 years. The mean + SD of Thai version GAS questionnaire total score at week 0 and week 2 were 5.99+3.00 and 6.35+2.77 respectively. The internal consistency (Cronbach’s alpha) of the total score was 0.94. The intraclass correlation coefficient (ICC) (95% CI) of the total score was 0.89(0.83,0.93). the

Conclusion: The Thai version GAS questionnaire was found to be reliable and valid. It could be used for evaluating satisfaction of genitalia in Thai women.
