Abstract

ปี่ชวา เป็นเครื่องดนตรีที่ใช้ประกอบในงานพระราชพิธี มีปรากฏหลักฐานทางเอกสารว่าถูกนำเข้ามาใช้ในสมัยกรุงศรีอยุธยาตอนต้นการถ่ายทอดการเป่าปี่ชวาในงานพระราชพิธี ไม่มีระบบการถ่ายทอดที่เป็นระเบียบแบบแผนอย่างชัดเจน มีเพียงการถ่ายทอดเพลงสำคัญที่จะต้องใช้ในงานพระราชพิธี โดยชี้แนวทางของการเป่าปี่ในช่วงต่างๆ ซึ่งผู้เป่าปี่ก็จะต้องมีความรู้เรื่องขั้นตอนของพระราชพิธีประกอบกันไปด้วย โดยมีการถ่ายทอดกันระหว่างผู้ที่ปฏิบัติหน้าที่จนชำนาญ แล้วถ่ายทอดให้ผู้ที่เข้ามาปฏิบัติงานใหม่ โดยส่วนใหญ่ผู้ที่เข้ามาปฏิบัติหน้าที่ในงานพระราชพิธี ก็จะมีพื้นฐานของการเป่าปี่ชวามาก่อนแล้ว ดังนั้นระบบการถ่ายทอดจึงเป็นเพียงการชี้แนวทางของการนำไปใช้ในงานพระราชพิธี โดยปัจจุบันพระราชพิธีที่มีปี่ชวาเข้าไปประกอบการประโคม จำนวน 2 พระราชพิธีการนำปี่ชวามาใช้ในขั้นตอนของงานพระราชพิธี ปัจจุบันนั้นแบ่งเป็น 2 รูปแบบ ได้แก่ รูปแบบของการประโคมดนตรีการจัดตั้งเป็นกระบวนพยุหยาตราโดยที่ปี่ชวาเป็นผู้เป่าดำเนินทำนอง และให้กลองชนะจัดตั้งเป็นกระบวนและมีกลองสองหน้าหนึ่งในเป็นผู้ตีนำ กับรูปแบบของการจัดตั้งเป็นเครื่องบรรเลงโดยมีปี่ชวาเป่าดำเนินทำนองและใช้กลองแขกเป็นผู้กำหนดจังหวะหน้าทับ ส่วนของบทเพลงที่ถูกนำมาใช้เป็นเพลงประเภทสองชั้นสั้นๆ ที่มีสำนวนการดำเนินทำนองในลักษณะเดียวกันเพื่อสามารถเชื่อมเข้าหากันระหว่างบทเพลงได้อย่างต่อเนื่องไม่ให้เสียงขาดหายไป ระหว่างขั้นตอนการปฏิบัติงานพระราชพิธี

Pee Chawa is a musical instrument that was used court rituals. There is evidence that Indicates it was initially used starting in the early Ayudhuay era.The transfer or passing down of the Pee Chaw playing methods was not systematic. Only the Important song used in court rituals have been passed down from generation to generation. The Pee Chawa Player must know the sequence of events of the entire ritual. Most new players have competent skills in playing the instrument, but need to learn the sequence and timing of the rituals.In today's society, the Pee Chawa is only used in two rituals and there are two playing styles. First the Pee Chawa is accompanied by two drum : Klong Song Na. The latter is the leading drum. The second style consists of the Pee Chawa accompanied by a pair of Klong Kheaks. The Klong Kheaks play a rhythmic pattern called Chang Wa Na Tub.A few short music pieces are played one after the other in a similar style to provide continuity during the entire court ritual.
