Abstract
เมื่อนำดอกประยงค์แห้งที่บดละเอียดมาสกัดด้วย hexane และ methyl alcohol ตามลำดับ แยกได้สารหลายชนิด การวิเคราะห์สูตรโครงสร้างของสารเหล่านี้ได้ใช้วิธีการทาง spectroscopy และปฏิกิริยาทางเคมี ปรากฏว่าสาร 3 ชนิดที่ได้จากส่วนที่สกัดด้วย hexane คือ tritriacontane, ceryl alcohol, ᵝ-sitosterol และสารใหม่ที่ได้จากส่วนที่สกัดด้วย methyl alcohol คือ (-)-(4R:5R)-4, 5-dihydroxy-1-methyl-2-piperidone ซึ่งให้ชื่อว่า “odoram" การหาสูตรโครงสร้างและ stereochemistry ของสาร odoram อาศัย ¹H NMR, ¹³C NMR และ mass spectra เป็นส่วนใหญ่
