Abstract

ศึกษาความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างคุณลักษณะเด่น ความพึงพอใจในชีวิต และความพึงพอใจในการทำงานของคนไทยในเขตกรุงเทพมหานครและปริมณฑล โดยศึกษาว่าคุณลักษณะเด่นเหล่านั้นมีความสัมพันธ์ในทางสถิติ และสามารถทำนายความพึงพอใจในชีวิตและความพึงพอใจในการทำงานของคนไทย ได้มากน้อยเพียงใด กลุ่มตัวอย่างเป็นคนไทยอายุ 17-60 ปีในเขตกรุงเทพมหานครและปริมณฑลจำนวน 3,562 คน ประเมินคุณลักษณะเด่นโดยใช้แบบประเมิน 24 ด้าน ของ Peterson และ Seligman (2004) ซึ่งมีการใช้อย่างแพร่หลายในการประเมินลักษณะเด่นของคนแต่ละประเทศในกว่า 40 ประเทศทั่วโลก ผลการวิจัยพบว่า คุณลักษณะเด่น 5 อันดับแรกของคนไทยในเขตกรุงเทพมหานครและปริมณฑล คือ 1) ความยุติธรรม ความเสมอภาคและความถูกต้อง 2) ความกตัญญู 3) ความเป็นส่วนหนึ่ง ความเป็นทีม และความจงรักภักดี 4) ความสามารถในการรักและถูกรัก และ 5) ความซื่อสัตย์ ความตรงไปตรงมาและความจริงใจ จากการวิเคราะห์ข้อมูลโดยเปรียบเทียบคุณลักษณะเด่น 5 อันดับแรก ระหว่างเพศชายและเพศหญิง และระหว่างกลุ่มอายุ 2 กลุ่ม ซึ่งได้แก่ วัยรุ่นตอนปลาย (17-20 ปี) และวัยผู้ใหญ่ (21-60 ปี) พบว่า กลุ่มตัวอย่างทุกกลุ่มมีคุณลักษณะเด่น 3 ด้านเหมือนกัน คือ 1) ความยุติธรรม ความเสมอภาคและความถูกต้อง 2) ความกตัญญู และ 3) ความเป็นส่วนหนึ่ง ความเป็นทีม และความจงรักภักดี นอกจากนี้ ผลการวิเคราะห์ทางสถิติโดยการวิเคราะห์ถดถอยแบบพหุคูณ (Multiple regression) พบว่า มีคุณลักษณะเด่น 4 ด้าน คือ 1) ความอยากรู้อยากเห็นและความสนใจในโลก 2) ความกตัญญู 3) ความสนุกสนาน ความกระตือรือร้นและพลังงาน และ 4) การให้อภัยและความกรุณา ที่มีอิทธิพลต่อความพึงพอใจของคนไทยทั้งในด้านชีวิตและในด้านการทำงาน โดยพบว่า ทั้ง 4 คุณลักษณะเด่นนี้สามารถร่วมกันทำนายความพึงพอใจในชีวิตของวัยรุ่นตอนปลาย (R[superscript 2] = 0.319, p < 0.001) และวัยผู้ใหญ่ (R[superscript 2] = 0.259, p < 0.001) รวมถึงสามารถทำนายความพึงพอใจในการทำงานของวัยผู้ใหญ่ (R[superscript 2] = 0.190, p < 0.001) อย่างมี นัยสำคัญทางสถิติ

Other Abstract (Other language abstract of ETD)

To identify character strengths of Thai people in the Bangkok Metropolis and to investigate relationships among character strengths, life satisfaction, and job satisfaction of Thai people. The participants were 3,562 Thai males and females aged 17-60 years old in the Bangkok Metropolis. The research instrument was the Values in Action Inventory of Strengths (VIA-IS; Peterson & Seligman, 2004) widely used over the world in identifying 24 character strengths of people in 40 different countries. Results showed that the top five character strengths of Thai people in the Bangkok Metropolis were 1) Fairness, equity, and justice, 2) Gratitude, 3) Citizenship, teamwork, and loyalty, 4) Capacity to love and be loved, and 5) Honesty, authenticity, and genuineness. It was found that by comparing the top five character strengths between gender, and two different age groups (late adolescence; 17-20 years and adulthood; 21-60 years), three common character strengths shared by each group of participants were 1) Fairness, equity, and justice, 2) Gratitude, and 3) Citizenship, teamwork, and loyalty. Multiple regression analysis clearly demonstrated that there were four character strengths 1) Curiosity, and interest in the world, 2) Gratitude, 3) Zest, enthusiasm, and energy, and 4) Forgiveness, and mercy significantly related to both life satisfaction and job satisfaction of Thai people. These four character strengths could significantly be able to predict life satisfaction of the late adolescence (R[superscript 2] = 0.319, p < 0.001) and the adulthood (R[superscript 2] = 0.259, p < 0.001) and also job satisfaction of the adulthood (R[superscript 2] = 0.190, p < 0.001).
