Abstract

วิทยานิพนธ์ฉบับนี้มีจุดมุ่งหมายเพื่อทำความเข้าใจเกี่ยวกับแนวคิดเรื่อง“ความยุติธรรม"ในงานเขียนชั้นต้นของ ฌอง ฌากส์ รุสโซ ว่าแท้ที่จริงแล้ว คืออะไร มีความหมายอย่างไร ตลอดจนการได้มาซึ่งความยุติธรรมตามความคิดของรุสโซนั้นมันจำเป็นต้องมีเงื่อนไขอย่างไรบ้าง ซึ่งในการวิจัยนี้ได้เลือกงานดังต่อไปนี้เป็นขอบเขตของการศึกษาอันได้แก่ หนังสือสัญญาประชาคม (The Social Contract) ต้นฉบับร่างของหนังสือสัญญาประชาคม (Geneva Manuscript), ความเรียงว่าด้วยศิลปะวิทยาการ (Discourse on the Arts and Sciences), ความเรียงว่าเศรษฐกิจการเมือง (Discourse on Political Economy), ความเรียงว่าด้วยความไม่เสมอภาค (Discourse on the Origin of Inequality) และ เอมีล หรือว่าด้วยการศึกษา (Emile or on Education) อย่างไรก็ตาม ในงานวิจัยชิ้นนี้ได้ใช้วิธีการศึกษาด้วยการตีความตัวบทอย่างละเอียด รวมทั้งศึกษาบริบททางประวัติศาสตร์และชีวประวัติของนักปรัชญาท่านนี้ประกอบกันไปด้วยผลจากการวิจัยพบว่า ความยุติธรรมตามความหมายของรุสโซนั้น มันคือสิ่งที่เขาเรียกมันว่า ผลประโยชน์ร่วมกัน (Common Interest) ซึ่งมันมีความหมายถึงว่า การที่ทุกคนมาอยู่รวมกันเป็นสังคมนั้น สมาชิกทุกๆคนจะต้องได้ประโยชน์จากการเข้ามารวมกัน โดยที่ในสังคมนั้นจะต้องไม่ดำรงอยู่เพื่อการที่คนใดคนหนึ่งได้ประโยชน์จากการกดขี่เพื่อนสมาชิกคนอื่น หรือกล่าวอีกนัยหนึ่งก็คือ สังคมทางการเมืองนั้นเป็นของทุกๆคน และเพื่อทุกๆคน ซึ่งสิ่งนี้คือความยุติธรรมของรุสโซ อนึ่ง สำหรับเงื่อนไขที่จะได้มาซึ่งความยุติธรรมดังกล่าวนั้นจะเกิดขึ้นได้ในสังคมแบบประชาธิปไตยเท่านั้น (Democratic Society) และพลเมืองของรัฐนั้นจะต้องมีคุณธรรมแบบพลเมือง (Civic Virtue) ที่สนใจต่อกิจการสาธารณะของรัฐ ตลอดจนรัฐนั้นจะต้องไม่มีช่องว่างของความเหลื่อมล้ำทางเศรษฐกิจของพลเมืองที่มากเกินไป ซึ่งสิ่งเหล่านี้เป็นเงื่อนไขจำเป็นที่ขาดไมได้ในการได้มาซึ่งความยุติธรรมตามแนวคิดของ ฌอง ฌากส์ รุสโซ

Other Abstract (Other language abstract of ETD)

This research is an attempt to clarify and to find the real meaning of the concept of “Justice" as stipulated in Jean Jacques Rousseau's works, as well as the conditions to achieve that justice. The research was conducted through a textual analysis of Rousseau's works (i.e. the Social Contract, Geneva Manuscript, Discourse on the Arts and Sciences, Discourse on Political Economy and Discourse on the Origin of Inequality), as well as his historical context and biography. The research's finding is that Rousseau's concept of “Justice" is identical to his notion of "Common Interest"; namely the interest of the society must be shared equally by everybody as citizen. In other words, the society was built for everybody to have a good life, not for somebody or some groups to use the society for their own interest. However, the condition to achieve Rousseau's justice must be the same condition that constitutes what he called "the Democratic Society"; namely the citizen must have the Civic Virtue in public affairs and the gap between the rich and the poor in the state must be minimal.
