Abstract

วิทยานิพนธ์ฉบับนี้ มีจุดประสงค์เพื่อออกแบบและสร้างโปรแกรมบรรณาธิการแบบอักษรโพสต์สคริปต์ประเภทที่ 1 ที่เอื้ออำนวยต่อการสร้างแบบอักษรไทย และได้ใช้ความสามารถพิเศษบางอย่างของรูปแบบอักษรโพสต์สคริปต์ประเภทที่ 1 เป็นอย่างดี สามารถนำแฟ้มข้อมูลแบบอักษรที่ได้ไปใช้กับซอฟต์แวร์เอทีเอ็มได้อย่างถูกต้อง โดยโปรแกรมที่ออกแบบและสร้างขึ้นนี้จะใช้งานได้เฉพาะกับเครื่องไมโครคอมพิวเตอร์ที่สามารถใช้งานซอฟต์แวร์ไมโครซอฟต์วินโดวส์ในภาวะสแตนดาร์ดหรือแอนฮานซ์เท่านั้น ในการทำวิทยานิพนธ์ครั้งนี้ ได้ทำการศึกษารูปแบบอักษรโพสต์สคริปต์ประเภทที่ 1 ซึ่งเป็นการบรรยายลักษณะตัวอักษรโดยใช้คำสั่งในการลากเส้นตรงและเส้นโค้ง และยังมีความสามารถรวบรวมชุดคำสั่งที่เหมือน ๆ กันไว้เป็นโปรแกรมย่อย สามารถนำมาใช้บรรยายลักษณะตัวอักษรภาษาไทยที่มีทั้ง พยัญชนะ สระและวรรณยุกต์ได้ดี นอกจากนี้ยังได้ศึกษาเทคนิคสำคัญบางอย่างทางด้านคอมพิวเตอร์กราฟิก ตลอดจนเทคนิคในการพัฒนาโปรแกรมบนไมโครซอฟต์วินโดวส์ด้วย การออกแบบและสร้างโปรแกรมนี้ ครอบคลุมถึงการออกแบบจอภาพ รายการเลือก โครงสร้างข้อมูลและขั้นตอนการทำงาน โดยใช้ภาษาซีและซอฟต์แวร์ไมโครซอฟต์ควิกซิฟอร์วินโดวส์ (Micorsoft Quick C for Windows) เป็นตัวแปลภาษาที่ใช้ในการสร้าง ซึ่งโปรแกรมที่ได้เมื่อนำมาทดสอบโดยการแก้ไขตัวอักษรบางตัวแล้ว สามารถนำแฟ้มข้อมูลแบบอักษรนั้นไปใช้ร่วมกับซอฟต์แวร์เอทีเอ็มได้ผลเป็นที่น่าพอใจทั้งตัวอักษรที่ปรากฏทางจอภาพและเครื่องพิมพ์

Other Abstract (Other language abstract of ETD)

This thesis presents the design and construction of a Postscript Type 1 font editor which facilitates the design of Thai characters. The font editor uses special features provided by the Postscript Type 1. As a result, the font program obtained from the editor is compatible with Adobe Type manager (ATM) software (a font manager used in the Microsoft Windows). The font editor can be run in both standard and enhance modes of the Microsoft Windows. In this thesis, the Postscript Type 1 font format which is a collection of lines and curves used to describe character fonts is discussed. It has a special feature for grouping frequently used font descriptions as subroutines. This feature is well-suited for describing Thai characters. Techniques in computer graphics and development of Microsoft Window programs are studied and discussed as well. The design and construction of the font editor covers the design of user interfaces, data structures and algorithms. Microsoft Quick C for Windows is used as a development tool. The font programs obtained from the editor have been tested with the ATM software which faithfully produces Thai characters both onscreen and printers.
