Abstract

วิทยานิพนธ์ฉบับนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อ 1.) ศึกษาพัฒนาการของย่านนางเลิ้ง กรุงเทพมหานคร 2.) ศึกษาบทบาทของย่านนางเลิ้งในช่วงเวลาต่างๆ และความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างบทบาทของย่านกับ การพัฒนาพื้นที่ 3.) ศึกษาความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างคน กิจกรรม และพื้นที่ ตลอดจนปัญหา และแนวโน้ม การพัฒนาพื้นที่ย่าน 4.) เสนอแนะบทบาท และรูปแบบการพัฒนาพื้นที่ย่านนางเลิ้งในอนาคต จากการศึกษาพบว่า กิจกรรมต่างๆ ของย่านจะมีความสัมพันธ์กับการใช้พื้นที่ และเป็นสิ่งที่กำหนด บทบาทของย่านนางเลิ้งในช่วงเวลาต่างๆ จากเดิมที่ย่านมีลักษณะเป็นชุมชนขนาดเล็กที่มีการใช้ พื้นที่ส่วนใหญ่เพื่อการพักอาศัยในสมัยรัชกาลที่ 1 มาเป็นย่านที่มีการประกอบกิจกรรมทางการค้า ในรูปแบบของตลาดน้ำในสมัยรัชกาลที่ 4 และได้มีการปรับตัวพัฒนารูปแบบเป็นตลาดบกแห่งแรก ของกรุงเทพฯ ในสมัยรัชกาลที่ 5 จนปัจจุบันย่านได้มีการเปลี่ยนแปลงรูปแบบการค้ามาเป็น การประกอบกิจกรรมการค้าขายอาหารคาว หวาน ที่ควบคู่ไปกับการพักอาศัย ซึ่งเป็นลักษณะ เฉพาะของพื้นที่ย่าน นอกจากนี้ในย่านยังมีเอกลักษณ์สำคัญ ได้แก่ อาคารสถาปัตยกรรมที่มีคุณค่า ทางประวัติศาสตร์ โดยเฉพาะอาคารบริเวณริมถนนนครสวรรค์ และบริเวณรอบตลาดนางเลิ้ง ที่ปัจจุบันอยู่ในสภาพทรุดโทรม เนื่องจากขาดการดูแลรักษา และการจัดการที่ดีส่งผลกระทบต่อ กิจกรรมต่างๆ และความเสื่อมโทรมของพื้นที่ย่าน ผลการศึกษา นำมาสู่ข้อเสนอแนะถึงบทบาทของ ย่านนางเลิ้งในอนาคตให้ย่านยังคงมีบทบาทเพื่อการพักอาศัยที่ควบคู่ไปกับการประกอบกิจกรรมทาง การค้า และพัฒนาให้ย่านนางเลิ้งกลายเป็นศูนย์กลางของการประกอบกิจกรรมการค้าขายอาหาร คาวหวานสำเร็จรูปขนาดใหญ่ ตลอดจนเสนอแนะถึงรูปแบบการพัฒนาพื้นที่ของย่าน เพื่อช่วยแก้ ปัญหาต่างๆ ที่เกิดขึ้น และเพื่อส่งเสริมให้ย่านยังคงอยู่ต่อไป

Other Abstract (Other language abstract of ETD)

The objectives of this thesis are : (1) to study the evolution of Nang Loeng District, Bangkok; (2) to study the roles of the district throughout the timeline and their relationships with spatial development of the area; (3) to study the relationships between the community dwellers, their activities, and land utilization as well as problems and development trends of the district; and (4) to propose the future roles and development patterns of the district.. It is found that all activities within the district are closely related to land utilization. They also help define the roles of the district throughout the timeline-from the reign of King Rama I when the district was small and most of the areas within the district were residential area to floating market of Bangkok in the reign of King Rama V. At the present, the district has been transformed into Thai foods and sweets market and residential area. These features have become the identity of the district. In addition, the identity of the district also comes from the unique historic buildings, especially those along sides of Nakhon Sawan Road and around the market area. They are now deteriorate from the lack of maintenance and management and have contributed to the deterioration of the district as a whole. The results from the study have led to the recommendation that the existing roles of the district should be maintained in the future. It should be developed into larger-scale market for tradition Thai foods and sweets. The development patterns for the district are also proposed to solve the existing problems and to maintain the characters of the district.
