Abstract
งานศึกษานี้มุ่งวิเคราะห์แนวทางการออกแบบสถาปัตยกรรมและปัจจัยที่ส่งผลต่อแนวคิดและผลงานออกแบบสถาปัตยกรรมของพระพรหมพิจิตร (อู๋ ลาภานนท์) ผ่านการรวบรวมข้อมูลจากหลักฐานชั้นต้นประเภทเอกสารราชการ ข้อเขียน บทความ ตำรา ประวัติการทำงาน ของพระพรหมพิจิตรและที่เกี่ยวข้อง เพื่อนำมาศึกษาในประเด็นแนวคิด วิธีการทำงานออกแบบ และการรวบรวมผลงานออกแบบสถาปัตยกรรมกรณีศึกษาจำนวน 32 หลัง ในช่วง พ.ศ. 2473 – 2504 นำมาจำแนกประเภทตามเกณฑ์รูปทรงรวมของอาคาร และรูปแบบสถาปัตยกรรม แล้วนำการศึกษาข้อมูลทั้งสองประเภทมาวิเคราะห์ร่วมกันเพื่อหาลักษณะร่วมและความต่างของแนวคิดการออกแบบ กับผลงานสถาปัตยกรรม สู่คำอธิบายแนวทางการออกแบบงานสถาปัตยกรรมของพระพรหมพิจิตร ผลการศึกษาชี้ให้เห็นว่า แนวคิดการออกแบบสถาปัตยกรรมของพระพรหมพิจิตรอยู่บนหลักการออกแบบสถาปัตยกรรมไทยประเพณีที่เรียกว่า หลักพื้นที่ รูปทรง และเครื่องประกอบ มีแนวทางหลักคือ การกำหนดรูปแบบสถาปัตยกรรมจากลักษณะของวัสดุก่อสร้าง ได้แก่ ทรงไม้ ทรงปูน และทวิลักษณ์ ที่สัมพันธ์กับรูปแบบสถาปัตยกรรมของอาคารข้างเคียง สร้างรูปแบบ และรูปทรงอาคารที่หลากหลาย ด้วยระบบสัดส่วนในการกำหนดรูปทรงหลังคา และองค์ประกอบสถาปัตยกรรม การใช้รูปร่าง และรูปทรงเรขาคณิตในการออกแบบผังบริเวณ ผังพื้น ที่ว่างภายใน และลวดลายประดับตกแต่ง การกำหนดรูปทรงอาคารด้วยระบบมุข ระบบการลดทอนปริมาตรอาคาร และระบบการออกแบบรูปทรงหลังคา และการให้ความสำคัญกับโครงสร้างภาพในการออกแบบลวดลาย และที่ว่างในการออกแบบพื้นที่ใช้สอยภายใน พระพรหมพิจิตรพัฒนาแนวทางการออกแบบดังกล่าวภายใต้ปัจจัยหลัก 4 ปัจจัย คือ (1) การช่วยงานสมเด็จพระเจ้าบรมวงศ์เธอ เจ้าฟ้ากรมพระยานริศรานุวัดติวงศ์ (2) การทำงานในระบบราชการ อันมีระเบียบการก่อสร้าง ฝีมือช่าง และงบประมาณ เป็นเงื่อนไขสำคัญในการออกแบบ (3) แนวคิดทางการเมืองของรัฐ ลัทธิชาตินิยม สร้างบทบาทหน้าที่ และความต้องการงานสถาปัตยกรรมไทยประเพณี ในฐานะศิลปกรรมประจำชาติ ตลอดจน (4) การร่วมงานกับพระสาโรชรัตนนิมมานก์ ที่ส่งอิทธิพลทางแนวคิดการออกแบบสถาปัตยกรรมแบบทันสมัยให้แก่พระพรหมพิจิตร เหตุปัจจัยต่างๆ ดังกล่าว หล่อหลอมให้ผลงานออกแบบสถาปัตยกรรมของพระพรหมพิจิตรเป็น “สถาปัตยกรรมไทยแบบทันสมัย” คือ งานสถาปัตยกรรมไทยประเพณีที่ผสานวิธีการออกแบบสมัยใหม่ ทั้งการกำหนดรูปแบบการใช้งานสมัยใหม่ มีระบบการวางผัง การออกแบบรูปแบบและรูปทรงอาคารที่เรียบง่าย และการใช้วัสดุสมัยใหม่อย่างคอนกรีต
Other Abstract (Other language abstract of ETD)
This research aims to analyze architectural approach and crucial factors that affect concept and architectural works of Phra Phrombhichitr. Through compilation of primary evidence in an aspect of general affair documents, annotations, articles, textbooks and biography of Phra Phrombhichitr, the research examined concept ideas, design workflows including selected collection of 32 case study building completed between 1930-1961. To being sorted by overall building forms and architecture styles, then bring altogether the studies to analyze in both commons and differences of design approaches and architectural works, towards the description of Phra Phrombhichitr’s architecture design approach. The result of study has pointed out that Phra Phrombhichitr’s approach to architectural design situated on the methodology of Thai traditional architectural design titled ‘Areas, Forms and Supplements’, which mainly dwell in portraying architectural styles through material features include; timber, masonry and duality that harmonized surrounding architectures, creating variations of building form and design with systematic roof proportions and architectural elements, shape utilization and layout geometrical designs, plans, interior spaces and ornamental elements, designating building form with systematic porch, building volume reductive system, systematic roof shape design, and emphasizing in space among the designs, patterns, interior functional spaces and elevations. Phra Phrombhichitr developed the mentioned design approach under 4 main factors; (1) an assessment with Price Chitcharoen, the Prince Narisara Nuwattiwong (2) working under general affair with strict building code, craftsmanship and budget as design crucial criteria (3) government conception and nationalism generate roles and requirements on Thai traditional architectures in status of national artistic treasured along with (4) an association with Sarot Sukkhayang that influenced Phra Phrombhichitr a modernized architectural designs. These mentioned factors have forged Phra Phrombhichitr’s architectural design into ‘up-to-date Thai Architecture’ that is, Thai traditional architecture and modern design approach combined, further to modern functionalities, systematic layout placements, conformation designs and simple building forms and usage of modern material like concrete.
