Abstract
การปรับประโยชน์ใช้สอยเป็นหนึ่งในวิธีการอนุรักษ์ด้วยการนำอาคารที่มีความสำคัญทางประวัติศาสตร์ที่ถูกทิ้งร้าง หรือมีสภาพที่ไม่สามารถตอบสนองการใช้งานเดิมได้ มาปรับปรุงพร้อมกับปรับเปลี่ยนการใช้งาน ซึ่งในการปรับปรุงอาคารนั้นอาจทำให้เกิดความเปลี่ยนแปลงทางกายภาพของอาคารมากน้อยแตกต่างกันไป ขึ้นอยู่กับวัตถุประสงค์และการเลือกระดับของการอนุรักษ์ สิ่งที่สำคัญที่สุดสำหรับวิธีการนี้ คือเมื่อทำการปรับปรุงแล้วจะต้องคำนึงถึงการคงคุณค่าของอาคารให้ได้มากที่สุด หรือการเปลี่ยนแปลงที่เกิดขึ้นจะต้องส่งเสริมคุณค่าของอาคารให้เด่นชัดขึ้น วิทยานิพนธ์นี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษากระบวนการในการปรับประโยชน์ใช้สอยอาคาร ศึกษาการวางแนวคิด ศึกษาการออกแบบโปรแกรมการใช้สอย และศึกษาการวางผังพื้นที่ใช้สอย จากอาคารที่ได้รับการปรับประโยชน์ใช้สอยเป็นพื้นที่การเรียนรู้สร้างสรรค์ กรณีศึกษาในการวิจัยนี้คืออาคารที่ตั้งอยู่ในพื้นที่อนุรักษ์ของกรุงเทพมหานคร 3 โครงการ อันประกอบด้วยศูนย์สร้างสรรค์งานออกแบบ ศูนย์การเรียนรู้ธนาคารแห่งประเทศไทย และหอสมุดเมืองกรุงเทพมหานคร กรอบทฤษฎีของการวิจัยนี้คือแนวคิดในเรื่องการปรับประโยชน์ใช้สอยและการออกแบบพื้นที่การเรียนรู้สร้างสรรค์ ผลการศึกษาพบว่ากรณีศึกษาทั้ง 3 โครงการมีการดำเนินการเป็นไปตามลำดับขั้นตอนของกระบวนการปรับประโยชน์ใช้สอยตามหลักการอนุรักษ์สากล เริ่มตั้งแต่ขั้นตอนการกำหนดโครงการ การวางแผน การปรับปรุง และการดูแลหลังเปิดใช้งาน โดยกรณีศึกษาทั้ง 3 เป็นโครงการที่ดำเนินการภายใต้หน่วยงานภาครัฐและรัฐวิสาหกิจ ซึ่งเป็นการนำเอาอาคารประวัติศาสตร์ในลักษณะสถาปัตยกรรมสมัยใหม่ที่เคยใช้งานเป็นสำนักงานมาปรับประโยชน์ใช้สอยใหม่ เนื่องจากอาคารประเภทนี้เป็นอาคารที่มีศักยภาพตามที่พื้นที่การเรียนรู้สร้างสรรค์พึงมี ทั้งนี้กรณีศึกษาทั้ง 3 ได้รับการออกแบบพื้นที่ใช้สอยตามแนวคิดและทฤษฎีที่เกี่ยวข้องกับการออกแบบพื้นที่การเรียนรู้สร้างสรรค์ โดยออกแบบในลักษณะของ"พื้นที่การเรียนรู้" ผสมผสานกับ "พื้นที่ทำงานร่วมกัน" ในการนี้แต่ละโครงการได้เลือกวิธีการอนุรักษ์หลายระดับอันประกอบด้วย การรักษาสภาพ การปรับปรุงและซ่อมแซม และการต่อเติม ซึ่งในภาพรวมของตัวอาคารยังคงรักษารูปลักษณ์ภายนอกเอาไว้ได้ ในขณะที่อาคารได้รับการปรับเปลี่ยนโครงสร้าง ที่ว่างภายใน งานระบบ และอุปกรณ์ประกอบอาคารเป็นหลัก จากการศึกษาการปรับประโยชน์ใช้สอยอาคารประวัติศาสตร์เพื่อใช้เป็นพื้นที่การเรียนรู้สร้างสรรค์ในพื้นที่อนุรักษ์ของกรุงเทพมหานคร นำมาสู่ข้อค้นพบที่ว่าการปรับประโยชน์ใช้สอยไม่ได้เป็นแค่วิธีการอนุรักษ์ในลักษณะแช่แข็งอาคารให้อยู่ในสภาพเดิม แต่การอนุรักษ์ด้วยวิธีการนี้ยังให้ความสำคัญกับคุณค่าและความแท้ของอาคารประวัติศาสตร์ ไปพร้อมกับการเปลี่ยนแปลงการใช้งานตามความต้องการในปัจจุบันอย่างมีประสิทธิภาพ

Adaptive reuse is one of the best conservation ways to reuse abandoned-historic building. It can also refer to the way of adjustment, reusing, upgrade, or change the usability of abandoned-historic building in order to support new requirement. The purpose of this dissertation is to explore the adaptive reuse process of historic building to creative learning space. The process includes the creation of design concept architectural program, and space planning. The case studies are the three historic buildings in the Bangkok Conservation Area, including Thailand Creative and Design Center, Bank of Thailand Learning Center, and Bangkok City Library. This study applied the two main concepts are the adaptive reuse concept and the design of creative learning space to research theoretical framework. The study revealed that all case studies were conducted according to the international – based adaptive reuse process, which were started from initial project planning stage, to a planning stage, and implementation stage, and a monitor operation stage. The study also found that all cases were the modern-style building that were converted from the offices of public services to the creative design and learning centers. Regarding each project has chosen the level of conservation which consist of preservation, renovation, adaption, and remodeling. Even though these building will change in structure, space plan, service and stuff but the building still maintaining its appearance. Finally, Adaptive reuse of Historic building to Creative learning space bring to the conclusion that adaptive reuse is not only just a way to preserve the building to its original condition but also gives importance to the value and authenticity of the historic building. Along with changing the usage according to current needs efficiently.
