Abstract
Prevention and treatment of caecal coccidiosis in chickens with toltrazuril in the concentration of 25 and 75 ppm in drinking water were tested in 16 groups of chicken for 24 and 8 hours respectively. Eimeria tenella oocysts were inoculated in the number 10a 10 Medication were given on days -4, -2, 0, 2, 4, 5 and 6. The results revealed that the 25 ppm concentration was the most effective from day 0 to 2 and from day -2 to 2 of infection for the 75 ppm concentration. The parameters used were lesion score reading, haematocrit, oocyst per gram count, clinical signs and mortality.
