Abstract

Chance similar and systematic similarities between Thai and English are illustrated and discussed at serveral levels of linguistic analysis. The argument is made that a comparative analysis, one which high-lights the systematic similarities underlysing the two languages is as important in second language pedagogy as the more commonly found contrastive analysis.
