Abstract
The paper attempts to outline an approach which is aimed at exploiting practising teachers' knowledge and know-how in the process of their development as English teachers. The aim is also to develop strategies that would enable them to understand their specific teaching contexts better and to find their own adaptations of any current approaches. The overall objective of the process approach is to produce autonomous teachers. The paper gives brief examples of the procedures adopted in the course and outlines the main task-types.
