Abstract
วิทยานิพนธ์ฉบับนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาประเด็นเรื่องเรือนร่างที่ปรากฏในอาชญนิยายร่วมสมัยแนวฆาตกรต่อเนื่องของประเทศอเมริกาและญี่ปุ่นตั้งแต่ปีคริสต์ศักราช 2000 ถึงปัจจุบัน อาชญนิยายของอเมริกาที่คัดสรรมาศึกษาได้แก่เรื่องเดอะ เดธ คอลเลคเตอร์ส์ (The Death Collectors, 2006) ของแจ็ค เคอร์เลย์ (Jack Kerley) มือเพชฌฆาต (The Executioner, 2010) ของคริส คาร์เตอร์ (Chris Carter) และซีรีส์เรื่องฮันนิบาล ปี 1 (Hannibal Season 1, 2013) ของไบรอัน ฟุลเลอร์ (Bryan Fuller) ส่วนอาชญนิยายของญี่ปุ่นได้แก่เรื่องโกธ คดีตัดข้อมือ (2005) ของโอสึอิจิ ราตรีสีเลือด (2008) ของฮนดะ เท็ตสึยะ เลสซัน ออฟ ดิ อีวิล (Lesson of the Evil, 2012) ของมิอิเคะ ทาคาชิ และมิวเซียมเล่ม 1-3 (Museum: The serial killer is laughing in the rain, 2014) ของเรียวสุเกะ โทโมเอะ จากการศึกษาพบว่าตัวบทคัดสรรทั้ง 7 เรื่องได้บรรยายถึงเรือนร่างของตัวละครฆาตกร นักสืบและเหยื่ออย่างละเอียด โดยเฉพาะอย่างยิ่งการบรรยายถึงเรือนร่างของเหยื่อนั้นเผยให้เห็นร่างกายที่ถูกกระทำความรุนแรงอย่างน่าสะพรึงกลัวและน่าขยะแขยง ซึ่งแตกต่างจากอาชญนิยายในอดีตที่มักไม่นำเสนอเรือนร่างในลักษณะดังกล่าว การนำเสนอเรือนร่างที่น่ากลัวและน่าขยะแขยงในตัวบทคัดสรรนี้สะท้อนให้เห็นถึงการผสมผสานระหว่างลักษณะของอาชญนิยายกับลักษณะของวรรณกรรมแนวโกธิค ซึ่งชี้ให้เห็นประเด็นเกี่ยวกับเรือนร่าง 3 ประเด็นหลักด้วยกัน ได้แก่ประเด็นเรื่องสังคมเมือง ศาสนา และการบริโภค การศึกษาเรือนร่างใน 3 ประเด็นดังกล่าวนี้เผยให้เห็นความคล้ายคลึงกันระหว่างตัวบทของอเมริกาและญี่ปุ่น กล่าวคือตัวบทของทั้งสองประเทศนำเสนอประเด็นเรื่อง "การล่วงล้ำ" (Transgression) ซึ่งแสดงให้เห็นถึงการทลายเส้นแบ่งและกรอบเกณฑ์ต่าง ๆ อันเป็นแนวคิดสำคัญอย่างหนึ่งที่มักถูกกล่าวถึงในอาชญนิยาย และเปิดเผยให้เห็น "ความไร้ระเบียบ" (Chaos) อันเป็นลักษณะอย่างหนึ่งของวรรณกรรมแนวโกธิค โดยการล่วงล้ำดังกล่าวแบ่งออกเป็น 3 ด้านด้วยกันได้แก่ การล่วงล้ำระหว่างเพศชายกับหญิง การล่วงล้ำระหว่างภายนอกกับภายในเรือนร่าง และการล่วงล้ำกฎเกณฑ์ของสังคม ซึ่งแสดงให้เห็นถึงมุมมองเกี่ยวกับเรือนร่างในสังคมอเมริกาและญี่ปุ่นที่เปลี่ยนแปลงไปจากอดีต
Other Abstract (Other language abstract of ETD)
This thesis aims to investigate the body in contemporary American and Japanese serial killer crime fiction from the year 2000 to the present. The American texts include Jack Kerley's The Death Collectors (2006), Chris Carter's The Executioner (2010) and Bryan Fuller's Hannibal Series Season 1 (2013). The Japanese texts include Otsuichi's GOTH (2005), Honda Tetsuya's Strawberry Night (2008), Miike Takashi's Lesson of the Evil (2012) and Ryousuke Tomoe's Museum: The serial killer is laughing in the rain 1-3 (2014). The study finds that these 7 contemporary crime fiction, unlike earlier works, clearly depict the details of the serial killer's, the detective's and the victim's bodies, especially the gruesome and horrific details of the victim's violated body. The depiction of the gruesome body in these works represents a combination of the characteristics of crime and gothic fiction, which reveals 3 main issues in relation to the body: urban space, religion and consumption. In addition, the study shows that both the American and the Japanese texts have a common theme of "transgression." This transgression represents the breakdown of order and boundaries which is an important issue in crime fiction. It also reveals the chaos within the society, which is a characteristic of gothic fiction. The transgression in the examined texts manifests itself in three different dimensions: gender, inside and outside, and social limitations. The examination of these different dimensions reveals how the concept of the body in both American and Japanese society has changed over time.
