Abstract

The food supplement industry in Thailand has been experiencing rapid growth due to increasing health consciousness, an aging population, rising disposable incomes, and urbanization. Within this industry, black garlic has become one of the significant products in Thailand due to its enhanced nutrient profile compared to fresh garlic. The paper aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of the current market landscape, consumer preferences and trends, and to recommend strategic approaches for the development of the black garlic sector. This paper focuses on analyzing the macro and micro-environmental factors affecting the food supplement industry, specifying the black garlic market in Thailand. It applies PESTLE, Porter’s Five Forces, and SWOT analyses through a combination of primary data from industry visits and in-depth interviews, and secondary data from existing literature and reliable resources. The findings highlight the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats facing the black garlic sector, offering insights for stakeholders to understand and leverage market dynamics effectively and efficiently.
