Abstract
Accumalation and distribution of heavy metals namely, zinc, lead, mercury, cadmium and manganese in sediments of the four ri vermouths draining into the upper Gulf of Thailand were investigated. The concentrations of mercury, lead and zinc were found to be highest in sediments of the Chao Phy a ri vermouth. Cadmium and manganese concentrations were found to be highest in the Bang-Pakong and Tha-Chin rivermouths respectively. Mercury, lead, mangnaese and zinc were also found to have a negative correlation in their concentration with the distance Chao Phya rivermouth.
