Abstract
Use transformation is a process of changing a place within a transforming context through renewed placemaking. The framework for use transformation within a place attachment process is to understandthe responsive behaviour to place bonding when applying the process of changing use. People, process and place are analyzed by the manner of change relevant to existing place. This paper is a selective case study. The theoretically selected Tha Tien is a representative historic market that is facing development and displacement from a rapidly growing tourist market and fashionable urban lifestyle.
