Abstract
This article investigates how local museum development can create value for sustainable self-operation, utilizing the Si Sutthawat Temple Museum in Wiang Pa Pao District, Chiang Rai Province, Thailand, as a case study. The study delves into the value creation process within the museum’s operations, specifically focusing on the contributions of local personnel. Employing semi-structured interviews and direct observations, the researcher closely studied the individuals playing pivotal roles in the museum’s operations, actively participating in the operator group’s activities. The findings underscore the crucial role of museums in bridging ‘objects’ as the primary drivers of value creation and ‘community kinships’ as the community bonds, necessitating seamless integration with adept management characterized by vision and effective strategies. This article encapsulates various methodologies for aligning a museum’s operations, providing practical insights into managing a network of teams. The acquired knowledge contributes to a nuanced understanding of practical approaches to sustaining management within current societal conditions.
