Abstract

London Book Fair (LBF) เป็นหนึ่งในงานแสดงหนังสือประจำปีที่มีชื่อเสียงระดับโลกซึ่งผู้ประกอบการด้านการพิมพ์จะมารวมตัวกันเพื่อทำธุรกิจร่วมกันกับคู่ค้าของตน สร้างเครือข่ายการติดต่อในภาคธุรกิจการพิมพ์ ตลอดจนแลกเปลี่ยนประสบการณ์กับผู้ร่วมอาชีพในวงการอุตสาหกรรมการพิมพ์ บทความปริทัศน์นี้มุ่งหมายที่จะนำเสนอสาระน่ารู้เกี่ยวกับงานแสดงหนังสือ LBF ประจำปี 2010 ผ่านมุมมองของนักวิชาชีพสารนิเทศ โดยแบ่งเนื้อหาออกเป็นสี่ส่วนได้แก่ 1) ข้อมูลพื้นฐานเกี่ยวกับการจัดงานแสดงหนังสือ LBF 2010 2) ประโยชน์ที่ผู้เข้าชมงานได้รับจากงานแสดงหนังสือ LBF 2010 3) ความรู้ที่ผู้เขียนบทความได้รับจากการเข้าฟังการสัมมนาในหัวข้อ “การใช้หนังสืออิเล็กทรอนิกส์” และ “ความท้าทายที่ห้องสมุดกำลังเผชิญในยุคดิจิทัล” และ 4) ประเด็นสำคัญที่ผู้ปฏิบัติงานในห้องสมุดหรือศูนย์สารนิเทศสามารถนำไปพิจารณาเพื่อพัฒนานวัตกรรมทางด้านงานบริการให้เหมาะสมกับบริการของสารนิเทศดิจิทัล

The London Book Fair (LBF) is recognized as one of the world’s most famous book shows where Publishing entrepreneurs gather to conduct business with their trading partners, build up their new contacts in public sector, and exchange their experience with colleagues across the industry. This review article aims to report on the LBF 2010 from an information professional’s perspective. It begins with the general background of organizing the LBF 2010. Next, it describes the benefits that the target audience would have from a visit to this book trade event. It also summarises the main points of two seminars in which the author attented: the use of e-books and digital challengers faced by British libraries. The article concludes by highlighting several important issues that library and information practitioners need toreflect on what to do to develop their innovative services in the digital information context.
