Abstract

The purpose of martial law is to control society during war or periods of civil unrest or chaos. The particular feature of martial law generally allows militaries to impose the law without permissions of governments. Thus, martial lawprobably, in a way, becomes a military's method of launching a coup.(จุดประสงค์ของกฎอัยการศึกคือ เพื่อรักษาความสงบของบ้านเมืองในยามสงคราม หรือในภาวะสุ่มเสี่ยงต่อการลุกฮือปฏิวัติจากกลุ่มต่อต้าน ลักษณะเฉพาะของกฎอัยการศึกคือ ให้สิทธิอำนาจแก่ทหารในการประกาศใช้ โดยไม่ต้องผ่านความเห็นชอบจากคณะรัฐมนตรี กฎอัยการศึกจึงเป็นเครื่องมือให้ทหารใช้ในการรัฐประหาร)
