Abstract
The objectives of this research were 1) to study misconceptions and mistakes in mathematics in relation to inequalities, and 2) to find the cause of mathematical misconceptions on inequalities. The target group was a group of 45 students who were studying in ninth grade at a school in Phitsanulok Province. Research instrumentsincluded tests of misconceptions and mistakes in mathematics regarding inequalitiesand a structured interview form. Data were analyzed by finding the frequencies and analyzing the content.The results showed that: 1) there are two forms of misconceptions and mistakes: misconceptions and mistakes of language and misconceptions and mistakes of theories, rules, formulas, definitions and properties; and 2) the causes of misconceptions include misconstruction of terminology on inequalities, misunderstanding in a sentence,misunderstanding of addition properties of inequalities, misunderstanding of multiplication property of inequalities and having weak numeracy skills.(การศึกษาวิจัยครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อ (1) ศึกษามโนทัศน์ที่คลาดเคลื่อนและข้อผิดพลาดทางการเรียนคณิตศาสตร์ เรื่อง อสมการ และ (2) หาสาเหตุของการเกิดมโนทัศน์ที่คลาดเคลื่อนทางการเรียน เรื่อง อสมการ กลุ่มเป้าหมายในการวิจัย ได้แก่ นักเรียนชั้นมัธยมศึกษาปีที่ 3 ของโรงเรียนในจังหวัดพิษณุโลก จํานวน 45 คน เครื่องมือที่ใช้ในการวิจัย ได้แก่ แบบวัดมโนทัศน์ที่คลาดเคลื่อนและข้อผิดพลาด และแบบสัมภาษณ์ วิเคราะห์ข้อมูลโดยหาความถี่ และการวิเคราะห์เชิงเนื้อหา ผลการวิจัยพบว่า (1) นักเรียนมีมโนทัศน์ที่คลาดเคลื่อนและข้อผิดพลาดทางการเรียน 2 รูปแบบ ได้แก่ มโนทัศน์ที่คลาดเคลื่อนและข้อผิดพลาดทางด้านภาษา และมโนทัศน์ที่คลาดเคลื่อนและข้อผิดพลาดทางด้านทฤษฎีบท กฎ สูตร บทนิยาม หรือสมบัติ และ (2) สาเหตุของการเกิดมโนทัศน์ที่คลาดเคลื่อน ได้แก่ การแปลความหมายของศัพท์เฉพาะผิด การไม่เข้าใจความหมายของประโยคข้อความ การเข้าใจผิดเกี่ยวกับการใช้สมบัติการบวกของการไม่เท่ากัน การเข้าใจผิดเกี่ยวกับการใช้สมบัติการคูณของการไม่เท่ากัน และพื้นฐานทางการคํานวณอยู่ในระดับตํ่า)
