Abstract

Individuals and society are regulated by normality and decency. "Sexual" discipline or the frame of normality manipulates people's body which is materialized by the "normative" masculinity and "normative" femininity. However, the ways that Thai people has mainly criticized YingluckShinawatra's image indicates that they are short of the understanding of gender and sexuality in the Thai political space. This article then aims to explain that the prejudice against Yingluck is the result of masculinebased judgment, together with anti-Thaksinism-based bias and discrimination against Shinawatra family and its alliance. Therefore, it can be interpreted that by being the Prime Minister, Yingluck has redefined the femininity in the Thai political space, while she has also challenged the cornered male-based definition of leader in the traditional masculine way.
