Abstract

The selection of dental students is a very important step in dental education. Its purpose, briefly summerized, is to choose candidates who will complete the dental educational program successfully, do well in and profit from their education, perform creditably in the practice of dentistry, and possess the traits of character and ethical values, desires in a professional porson. There are the difficulties in determining these applicants who are the best students, and therefore the besrrisks.The selection of dental students seems to be relatively academic question. Only one mistake in the selection can touch with better significance all member of class, the faculty, and the staff, as well as the entir focus of education to which the school is dedicates.This paper attemts to review the selection procedures of the dental students in many schools in the literature.
