Spoon denture for periodontal patient(ฟันปลอมชนิดถอดได้สําหรับคนไข้โรคปริทันต์)

Abstract

Temporary plate is a removable partial denture for a short period of time. The term Temporary Plate appears only in Thailand. Because of economic problem, many people use T.P. as a permanent denture which is the cause of susceptible to dental caries and periodontal disease. Incase of mal-position teeth or periodontal disease which show more undercut area for insertion or removal the denture, the dentist has to waste time to seat the denture by grinding the margin which make the denture loose and food impaction. Sixteen cases of "Spoon denture" were designed to eliminate these problems. One week to four years in clinical study found that the "Spoon denture" show satifactory.(Temporary Plate เป็นฟันปลอมชนิดถอดได้สําหรับใส่ในระยะเวลาสั้น ๆ เท่านั้น แต่มีผู้ใช้เป็นฟันถาวรกันมาก ทําให้เหงือกอักเสบเกิดโรคปริทันต์ และโรคฟันผุได้ง่าย ในกรณีที่คนไข้เป็นโรคปริทันต์อยู่แล้ว หรือฟันธรรมชาติที่ เหลืออยู่เกไม่เรียงตัวอย่างปกติ จะเกิดปัญหาในการใส่และถอดฟันปลอม ทําให้ทันตแพทย์ต้องเสียเวลาในคลินิคเพิ่มขึ้น จําเป็นต้องกรอขอบด้านข้างของฐานฟันปลอม ออก เป็นผลเสียทําให้เศษอาหารติด จึงได้ทดลองทํา "Spoon denture" ในคน ไข้ 16 ราย พบว่าสามารถแก้ปัญหาต่าง ๆ เหล่านี้ได้ และยะงใช้เป็นฟันปลอมชนิดถาวรได้ด้วย)
