Abstract

The critical thinking would take a major role in this portfolio thesis. It focuses on nursing student’s critical thinking skills and it is selected as the main problem. The necessity to improve this situation was explained. This portfolio thesis consists of five major parts: (1) the essay part will provide all information relevant to critical thinking, the situation of critical thinking in nursing students who studied all over Thailand were presented. The three strategies to improve this situation gathered from many sources were analyzed. The strength and weakness of each strategy were identified: curriculum & instruction development, human resource development, the managerial and regulatory, all of the three strategies takes an important different role that could not work separately, the three main approaches could be use in the project. (2) A project proposal in order to improve situation on the critical thinking, the three strategies was identified and wrote them in practical steps. The series of action to bring the project reach the goal, increasing critical thinking were described. (3) The information on a data exercise provided the result and findings of the explored problem, a discussion will provide the idea why the problem was addressed. (4) A brief presentation of the portfolio thesis as a whole will give an idea on the critical part. (5) An annotated bibliography presents selected major literatures that were value during this long-term study.
