Abstract

วิทยานิพนธ์ฉบับนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาวิวัฒนาการและความเป็นมาทางประวัติศาสตร์ และสภาพทั่วไปของเมืองกำแพงเพชร ทางด้านกายภาพ เศรษฐกิจ สังคม และประชากร และเสนอแนะแนวทางในการพัฒนาชุมชนเมืองกำแพงเพชรให้มีความสอดคล้องกับการอนุรักษ์โบราณสถานที่มีคุณค่าทางประวัติศาสตร์ โดยมีพื้นที่ศึกษาครอบคลุมชุมชนสำคัญสองฝั่งแม่น้ำปิง ได้แก่ ชุมชนหลักทางฝั่งตะวันออกเป็นชุมชนเทศบาลเมืองกำแพงเพชรให้มีความสอดคล้องกับการอนุรักษ์โบราณสถานที่มีคุณค่าทางประวัติศาสตร์ โดยมีพื้นที่ศึกษาครอบคลุมชุมชุนสำคัญสองฝั่งแม่น้ำปิง ได้แก่ ชุมชนหลักทางฝั่งตะวันออกเป็นชุมชนเทศบาลเมืองกำแพงเพชรมีพื้นที่ประมาณ 14.9 ตารางกิโลเมตร และชุมชนรองทางฝั่งตะวันตกเป็นชุมชนนครชุม มีพื้นที่ประมาณ 3.5 ตารางกิโลเมตร จากการศึกษาพบว่า กำแพงเพชรเป็นเมืองที่มีความเป็นมาทางประวัติศาสตร์อย่างต่อเนื่องและมีพัฒนาการของเมืองมาจนปัจจุบัน พัฒนาการของเมืองปรากฏหลักฐานเป็นร่องรอยของโบราณสถานและลักษณะการตั้งถิ่นฐานของชุมชนในยุคต่อมา โบราณสถานเหล่านี้นับเป็นทรัพยากรอันมีคุณคุณค่าที่เป็นองค์ประกอบส่วนหนึ่งของเมืองซึ่งสามารถสรุปการพัฒนาโบราณสถานออกเป็น 3 ประเด็น คือ พัฒนาให้เป็นแหล่งท่องเที่ยว ส่งเสริมให้เกิดเป็นเอกลักษณ์ของเมือง และส่งเสริมให้เป็นสถานที่พักผ่อนหย่อนใจของชาวเมือง หลักการพัฒนาเมืองกำแพงเพชรจึงเป็นการพัฒนาเชิงอนุรักษ์ เพื่อควบคุมการเติบโตของเมืองไม่ให้ไปรบกวนโบราณสถาน และรักษาสภาพแวดล้อมเมืองให้มีความสอดคล้องกับสภาพธรรมชาติและสารูปของเมืองในอดีต โดยกำหนดเป็น 2 แนวทาง คือ แนวทางในการควบคุมการใช้ประโยชน์ที่ดินและรูปแบบระบบคมนาคม และแนวทางในการอนุรักษ์โบราณสถาน ซึ่งได้จัดลำดับความเข้มงวดในการควบคุมอาคารก่อสร้างบริเวณพื้นที่ต่อเนื่องกับเขตโบราณสถานเพื่อรักษาภูมิทัศน์ของเมืองกำแพงเพชร

Other Abstract (Other language abstract of ETD)

The objectives of this thesis are to study urban evolution, history and existing condition of Kamphaeng Phet community, such as physical aspect, economic and social condition, and population as well, in order to propose the historical conservation and development guidelines of Kamphaeng Phet community. The studied areas are devided into two communities by Ping River which are the municiple community area on the east of the riverside (14.9 squarekilometer), and Nakornchume community on the west (3.5 squarekilometer). According to the studies, Kamphaeng Phet has the continuance in her history and has been developed until the present time. The historical buildings and the following settlements are good evidences for her development. These historical sites which are considered as valuable resources are one part of the community. The historical sites can be developed in 3 aspects:- for tourism, for uniqueness of the community and for the community recreation area. The principal of Kamphaeng Phet development which based on conservation is to control the community growth that can disturb the historical sites and to preserve the natural environment and to recall the historical image of the ancient city. The two main proposed aspects are landuse and transportation system concepts and physical control in the surrounding area of the historical sites.
