Abstract

วิทยานิพนธ์เล่มนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาถึงพัฒนาการธุรกิจเสื้อผ้าสำเร็จรูปย่านประตูน้ำ โดยศึกษาถึงปรากฎการณ์ที่เกิดขึ้นในแต่ละยุคของพัฒนาการ และศึกษาถึงกระบวนการสะสมทุนที่เกิดขึ้นในธุรกิจเสื้อผ้าสำเร็จรูปย่านประตูน้ำ วิทยานิพนธ์ฉบับนี้อาศัยการวิเคราะห์ข้อมูลจากการสังเกต สัมภาษณ์ และเอกสาร บทความต่างๆประกอบกัน ผลการวิจัยพบว่า พัฒนาการธุรกิจเสื้อผ้าสำเร็จรูปในย่านประตูน้ำ นั้นเริ่มจากการเป็นตลาดจำหน่ายผ้าเมตร และตลาดร้านเทเลอร์(Taylor’s)ในยุคแรก ต่อมาก็กลายมาเป็นตลาดผู้ผลิตและจำหน่ายเสื้อผ้าสำเร็จรูป (Ready to wear) ในช่วงยุคที่สอง พัฒนากลายเป็นยุคที่สาม คือ ยุคการนำเข้าสินค้าจากประเทศจีน ซึ่งการเปลี่ยนแปลงจากยุคแรกเข้าสู่ยุคที่สองเกิดจากการเปลี่ยนแปลงทางสังคมของประเทศที่นิยมเสื้อผ้าสำเร็จรูป และการเปลี่ยนแปลงทางด้านการผลิตที่เริ่มก้าวเข้าสู่การผลิตแบบระบบทุนนิยมที่ทำให้ผู้ประกอบการสามารถเพิ่มการสะสมทุนได้มากยิ่งขึ้น เมื่อการแข่งขันในตลาดทวีความรุนแรงมากขึ้นก็ทำให้ผู้ประกอบบางส่วนหันไปนำเข้าเสื้อผ้าสำเร็จรูปจากประเทศจีนที่มีต้นทุนในการผลิตที่ต่ำเข้ามาจำหน่ายในตลาด จนในท้ายที่สุดการนำเข้าเสื้อผ้าสำเร็จรูปจากประเทศจีนก็แผ่ขยายออกเป็นวงกว้าง ผู้ประกอบการบางรายไม่สามารถผลิตเสื้อผ้าสำเร็จรูปแข่งขันกับเสื้อผ้าสำเร็จรูปที่นำเข้าจากจีนได้ก็หันไปนำเข้าเสื้อผ้าสำเร็จรูปจากประเทศจีนเข้ามาเช่นเดียวกัน พัฒนาการธุรกิจเสื้อผ้าสำเร็จรูปย่านประตูน้ำนั้นในช่วงแรก การผลิตยังไม่ได้เป็นการผลิตแบบทุนนิยม เจ้าของร้านเทเลอร์ (Taylor’s) ผลิตเสื้อแบบวัดตัวตัด ใช้แรงงานของตนเองเป็นส่วนหนึ่งในการผลิต เงินที่ใช้ในการผลิตไม่ได้แสดงลักษณะของทุน ในยุคที่สองเจ้าของร้านเทเลอร์(Taylor’s)เริ่มใช้เงินในฐานะของทุนมากขึ้น จนกลายเป็นการผลิตแบบทุนนิยมที่มีการใช้เครื่องจักรที่สามารถช่วยให้ผลิตได้มากขึ้น ในยุคสุดท้ายผู้ประกอบการส่วนใหญ่ใช้เงินในฐานะทุน คือ ใช้เงินซื้อสินค้าและสินค้ามาจำหน่ายแปลงสภาพกลับมาเป็นเงินที่มากกว่าเงินที่ลงทุนไปในก้อนแรก และแยกตนเองออกจากกระบวนการผลิตโดยสิ้นเชิง

Other Abstract (Other language abstract of ETD)

The purpose of this thesis is to explore the development of garment business in the Pratunam area, where the phenomenon of the different stages of garment development and the process of capital accumulation in Pratunam’s garment business will be focused. Personal interviews, relevant articles, documents, and analysis from observations are the main methodology used to carry out this research. According to research, the garment business in Pratunam area started out as a Tailor shop and selling the garments in meters. Eventually, as the influence of capitalism became widespread, the trend developed into a market for manufacturing and ready-to-wear, where entrepreneurs found it easy to accumulate capital. In addition, the growing competition in the garment industry has shifted interest to import garments in China, which was beneficial to those who cannot compete with the cheaper costs. Hence the relying on these import garments from China became common. However before the influence of capitalism, the clothing was tailor-made by the shop owners, in which the cost of production wasn’t considered as a form of an investment. In the second period of Taylor’s, more money was spent, as an investment, on machinery to speed and increase the production. The last period solely focused on investing, where money was used to buy garments and sold at high price to profit. At this stage, the entrepreneurs are totally detached from the production process.
