Abstract

การวิจัยครั้งนี้มีจุดมุ่งหมายเพื่อศึกษาวัตถุประสงค์ในการใช้สารนิเทศความต้องการสารนิเทศ วิธีการแสวงหาสารนิเทศและปัญหาในการแสวงหาสารนิเทศ แหล่งสารนิเทศที่ใช้ การใช้และความต้องการบริการสารนิเทศ และปัญหาในการใช้บริการสารนิเทศของอาจารย์และนักศึกษาคณะบริหารธุรกิจ มหาวิทยาลัยเอกชน 9 แห่ง เครื่องมือที่ใช้ในการศึกษา เป็นแบบสอบถามซึ่งส่งไปให้อาจารย์ 282 คนและนักศึกษา 411 คนได้รับแบบสอบถามคืนจากอาจารย์ 182 คน (64.53%) และนักศึกษา 408 คน (99.27%) ผลการวิจัยพบว่า อาจารย์ส่วนใหญ่มีวัตถุประสงค์หลักในการใช้สารนิเทศเพื่อการเรียนการสอนในขณะที่นักศึกษาส่วนใหญ่ใช้สารนิเทศเพื่อการทำรายงาน อาจารย์และนักศึกษาต้องการสารนิเทศแต่ละเนื้อหาวิชาในรูปแบบตำราวิชาการที่เป็นภาษาไทยในระดับค่อนข้างมาก อาจารย์ใช้วิธีการค้นจากบัตรรายการและทรัพยากรส่วนตัวในระดับค่อนข้างมาก ในขณะที่นักศึกษาใช้วิธีการค้นจากบัตรรายการ การหยิบหนังสือเอกสารจากชั้นโดยไม่ได้ใช้บัตรรายการและบัตรดรรชนี วารสารในระดับค่อนข้างมาก ปัญหาที่พบในการแสวงหาสารนิเทศของทั้งอาจารย์และนักศึกษาส่วนใหญ่ คือ ไม่มีสารนิเทศ ที่ต้องการเพราะมีผู้ยืมหรือหายไป สำหรับแหล่งสารนิเทศพบว่า อาจารย์ส่วนใหญ่ใช้ทรัพยากรส่วนตัวและใช้ห้องสมุดกลางของมหาวิทยาลัยในระดับค่อนข้างมาก ในขณะที่นักศึกษาใช้ห้องสมุดกลางของมหาวิทยาลัยในระดับค่อนข้างมาก การพิจารณาเลือกใช้แหล่งสารนิเทศนั้นพบว่าอาจารย์เลือกใช้แหล่งสารนิเทศใกล้ตัวเป็นอันดับแรก ส่วนนักศึกษาเลือกใช้ แหล่งที่มีสารนิเทศมากเป็นหลัก สำหรับการใช้บริการสารนิเทศ อาจารย์ทุกคนใช้บริการยืม-คืน ส่วนนักศึกษาใช้บริการอ่าน ในห้องสมุด ปัญหาในการใช้บริการสารนิเทศของอาจารย์และนักศึกษาพบว่าสารนิเทศในสาขาที่ต้องการมีไม่เพียงพอ เก่าและล้าสมัยตลอดจนระบบการจัดเก็บทรัพยากรห้องสมุดไม่มีประสิทธิภาพพอทำให้ยากแก่การค้นหา

Other Abstract (Other language abstract of ETD)

The purposes of this research were to study the objectives of information uses, information needs, information seeking, information sources, and the uses and needs for information services of the business administration faculty members and students in 9 private universities. The questionnaires were distributed to 282 faculties and 411 students, of which 182 (64.30%) and 408 (99.27%) respectively were returned. The research results showed that most faculties used information for teaching while most students used information for class-report. Both faculties and students needed information in each subject in textbook form which was written in Thai language at high level. Faculties used information by searching through card catalog and personal resources at high level, while students used information by searching from card catalog and from browsing the book shelves without using card catalog and periodical indexes at high level. The problem encountered by most faculties and students was the lack of needed information. Most faculty members used personal resources and central library at high level while most students used central library at high level. Faculty members used information sources closed to them at first choice while student used information sources which contain large amount of information at first choice. All faculties used circulation service at high level while students used reading service at high level. Both faculties and students faced the problems of the inadequacy and obsolescence of needed information; and the inefficiency of the arrangement of library resources which made it difficult to find the needed items.
