Abstract

การวิจัยครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์ เพื่อศึกษาช่วงความจำระยะสั้นด้านภาษา ในด้านการจำตัวอักษรภาษาอังกฤษ การจำคำภาษาอังกฤษที่คุ้นเคย และการจำประโยคภาษาอังกฤษ และเพื่อศึกษาความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างความจำระยะสั้นด้านภาษา ความสามารถในการฟังและการอ่านเพื่อความเข้าใจภาษาอังกฤษ ของนักเรียนชั้นมัธยมศึกษาปีที่ 5 กรุงเทพมหานคร กลุ่มตัวอย่างประชากรเป็นนักเรียนชั้นมัธยมศึกษาปีที่ 5 ในโรงเรียนสังกัดกรมสามัญศึกษากรุงเทพมหานคร จำนวน 398 คน เครื่องมือที่ใช้ในการวิจัย คือ แบบวัดความจำระยะสั้นด้านภาษา 1 ชุด โดยแบ่งเป็น 3 ตอน คือ แบบวัดช่วงความจำตัวอักษรภาษาอังกฤษ แบบวัดช่วงความจำคำภาษาอังกฤษที่คุ้นเคย และแบบวัดช่วงความจำประโยคภาษาอังกฤษ แบบสอบวัดความสามารถในการฟังเพื่อความเข้าใจภาษาอังกฤษ และแบบสอบวัดความสามารถในการอ่านเพื่อความเข้าใจภาษาอังกฤษ วิเคราะห์ข้อมูลโดยการหาค่ามัธยฐาน ค่ามัชฌิมเลขคณิต ส่วนเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐานแบะค่าสัมประสิทธิ์สหสัมพันธ์แบบเพียร์สัน ผลการวิจัยสรุปได้ดังนี้ 1. ช่วงความจำระยะสั้นด้านภาษา ของนักเรียนชั้นมัธยมศึกษาปีที่ 5 ในด้านการจำตัวอักษรภาษาอังกฤษโดยเฉลี่ยเท่ากับ 4 ตัวอักษร ในด้านการจำคำภาษาอังกฤษที่คุ้นเคยโดยเฉลี่ยเท่ากับ 4 คำ ในด้านการจำประโยคภาษาอังกฤษมีความยาวโดยเฉลี่ยเท่ากับ 5 คำ 2. ความจำระยะสั้นด้านภาษาของนักเรียนชั้นมัธยมศึกษาปีที่ 5 มีความสัมพันธ์ในทางบวกกับความสามารถในการฟังเพื่อความเข้าใจภาษาอังกฤษ อย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติที่ระดับ .01 3. ความจำระยะสั้นด้านภาษาของนักเรียนชั้นมัธยมศึกษาปีที่ 5 มีความสัมพันธ์ในทางบวกกับความสามารถในการอ่านเพื่อความเข้าใจภาษาอังกฤษอย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติที่ระดับ .01

Other Abstract (Other language abstract of ETD)

The purposes of this research were to study verbal working memory span in the area of English letters span, English familiar words span and English sentences span; and to study the relationships between verbal working memory, English listening, and reading comprehension abilities of mathayom suksa five students, Bangkok Metropolis. The samples were 398 mathayom suksa five students in schools under jurisdiction of the General Education Department, Bangkok Metropolis. The research instruments were the verbal working memory-span test: English letters-span test, English familiar words-span test, and English sentences-span test, listening comprehension test and reading comprehension test. The obtained data were analyzed by means of median, arithmetic mean, standard deviation, and Pearson product moment correlation coefficient. The findings were as follows: 1. The verbal working memory span of mathayom suksa five students in the area of English letters span was 4, English familiar words span was 4, and English sentences span was 5 words in length. 2. There was positive relationship between verbal working memory and English listening comprehension abilities of mathayom suksa five students at the .01 level of significance. 3. There was positive relationship between verbal working memory and English reading comprehension abilities of mathayom suksa five students at the .01 levle of significance
