Abstract

การวิจัยครั้งนี้มีจุดมุ่งหมายเพื่อ 1. ศึกษาถึงพัฒนาการทางด้านเนื้อหาในนิตยสารสารคดีตั้งแต่ฉบับที่ 1 (กุมภาพันธ์ 2528) - ฉบับที่ 108 ( กุมภาพันธ์ 2537 ) 2.วิเคราะห์ถึงปัจจัยที่เป็นตัวกำหนดการตัดสินใจในการคัดเลือกประเด็นข่าวสารทางด้านการอนุรักษ์ทรัพยากรธรรมชาติของบรรณาธิการนิตยสารสารคดี และ 3. เพื่อเข้าใจถึงการกระทำบทบาทหน้าที่ของนิตยสารสารคดี ในการอนุรักษ์ทรัพยากรธรรมชาติ และการแสดงออกซึ่งบทบาทหน้าที่เหล่านั้น ในงานวิจัยนี้ใช้กรอบการวิเคราะห์โดยทฤษฏีการสื่อสารองค์กร ทฤษฏีภารกิจหน้าที่พื้นฐานของสื่อมวลชนที่มีต่อสังคม และแนวคิดเกี่ยวการกำหนดประเด็นการรับรู้ข่าวสาร ข้อมูลในการวิจัยนี้ได้จากการวิเคราะห์เนื้อหาของนิตยสารสารคดี ตลอดระยะเวลา 9 ปี (พ.ศ. 2528-พ.ศ. 2537) และการสัมภาษณ์แบบเจาะลึกบรรณาธิการนิตยสารสารคดีทั้ง 7 ท่าน รวมทั้งผู้อ่านนิตยสารสารคดีจำนวน 10 คน ผลการวิจัยพบว่าในช่วงสามปีแรกของนิตยสารสารคดี (พ.ศ. 2528 – พ.ศ. 2531) นั้นมีปริมาณการนำเสนอแนวเนื้อหา ชีวิต – เหตุการณ์ – วิทยาการ มากที่สุด และนับตั้งแต่ปีที่สี่ (พ.ศ. 2532) เป็นต้นมาก็เพิ่มการนำเสนอเรื่องแนวอนุรักษ์ทรัพยากรธรรมชาติเพิ่มมากขึ้น รวมทั้งมีพัฒนาการในการนำเสนอเนื้อหาในลักษณะที่เป็นองค์รวมมากขึ้น ทั้งนี้เพราะมีทั้งปัจจัยทั้งภายในองค์กร และภายนอกองค์กร นิตยสาร สารคดี ที่เป็นตัวกำหนดการคัดเลือกประเด็นข่าวสารโดยเฉพาะทางด้านประเด็นข่าวสารด้านการอนุรักษ์ทรัพยากรธรรมชาติของบรรณาธิการนิตยสารสารคดี ปัจจัยภายในองค์กร ได้แก่ นโยบายหรือกรอบแนวเนื้อหาที่ผู้จัดทำนิตยสารสารคดีได้วางไว้ในการทำงาน คุณค่าของความเป็นข่าว ปัญหาอุปสรรคในการผลิตนิตยสาร รวมถึงพื้นฐานทางการศึกษา ประสบการณ์ในการทำงาน และทัศนคติของบรรณาธิการในการทำงานแต่ละท่าน ส่วนปัจจัยภายนอกองค์กร ได้แก่ ความต้องการของผู้อ่าน กระแสอนุรักษ์ทรัพยากรธรรมชาติในสังคม การแข่งขันกับสื่ออื่น ๆ ด้วย นอกจากนี้ได้พบว่า นิตยสารสารคดีได้กระทำบทบาทหน้าที่ในการให้การศึกษา ความรู้ความเข้าใจ เกี่ยวกับชีวิตสัตว์ ธรรมชาติมากกว่าการกระทำบทบาทหน้าที่อื่น ๆ

Other Abstract (Other language abstract of ETD)

The objectives of this research are threefold 1. to study the development of content in the Feature Magazine through three periods (February 1985 – February 1994 – each period contains three years) 2.to analyze agenda-setting processes in relation to the selection of natural resource conservation of the Feature Magazine’s editorial staff 3. to access a functional role and performances of the Feature Magazine in conserving natural resources. The analysis of this research was under taken within frameworks of: theory of organizational communication; structural and functionalism approach; along with agenda-setting concept of media. Data were acquired through the content analysis as well as in depth interviews of seven Feature Magazine’s editors and its ten readers. Results demonstrated that from the first three years of the Feature Magazine (1985-1988) people’s life events and technology content was mostly emphasized. From the second through the third period, more issues of conservation and development controversy were presented in Holistic Approach due to significant factors, both from internal and external sources. Internal factors are work culture, news value, problems in magazine production including educational background, working experience and attitude toward each other among editorial staff. External factors are public interest, the mainstream of natural resource conservation including competitors. In terms of functional role, the Feature Magazine was performed its role in educating readers about wildlife and nature more than other roles.
