Abstract

การศึกษานี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อทดสอบความสามารถของนักเรียนชั้นประถมศึกษาปีที่ 6 ในการตรวจหาฟันผุด้วยตนเองภายหลังดูสื่อโสตทัศน์ ทำในนักเรียนโรงเรียนบ้านหมากแข้ง จังหวัดอุดรธานี อายุ 10 – 13 ปี ที่มีฟันแท้ขึ้นครบ 24 ซี่ จำนวน 75 คน แบ่งนักเรียนออกเป็นกลุ่มควบคุม และกลุ่มทดลองด้วยการสุ่มตัวอย่างอย่างง่าย วัดความรู้โดยใช้แบบทดสอบซึ่งเป็นภาพฟันผุ และไม่ผุจำนวน 10 รูป และวัดความสามารถในการตรวจฟันโดยให้นักเรียนตรวจฟันตนเองแต่ละซี่ด้วยกระจกและบันทึกผลในแบบบันทึก ทดสอบความรู้และความสามารถในการตรวจฟันครั้งที่ 1 ก่อน ดูสื่อโสตทัศน์ 2 สัปดาห์ และทดสอบครั้งที่ 2 หลังดูสื่อโสตทัศน์ทันที พบว่ากลุ่มทดลองมีคะแนนความรู้หลังดูสื่อเฉลี่ย 7.59 + 1.35 คะแนน และกลุ่มควบคุมมีคะแนนความรู้เฉลี่ย 4.92 + 1.65 คะแนน เมื่อวิเคราะห์ด้วยสถิติอินดีเพ็นเด็นท์ แซมเปิล ที เทสต์ พบว่ากลุ่มทดลองมีความรู้มากกว่าอย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติที่ระดับนัยสำคัญ 0.05 เมื่อวัดความสามารถในการตรวจฟัน พบว่า กลุ่มทดลองมีคะแนนความสามารถในการตรวจฟันหลังดูสื่อเฉลี่ย 19.18 + 5.00 คะแนน และ กลุ่มควบคุมมีคะแนนความสามารถในการตรวจฟันเฉลี่ย 21.59 + 3.25 คะแนน เมื่อวิเคราะห์ด้วยสถิติแมน วิตนีย์ ยู เทสต์ พบว่าไม่มีความแตกต่างอย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติที่ระดับนัยสำคัญทดลองซึ่งมีจำนวน 17 คน พบว่าคะแนนความสามารถในการตรวจฟันผุก่อนดูสื่อเฉลี่ยร้อยละ 9.83 + 20.04 คะแนน และหลังดูสื่อเฉลี่ยร้อยละ 35.38 + 38.30 คะแนน เมื่อวิเคราะห์ด้วยสถิติวิลคอกสัน แมชด์ แพร์ส ไซน์ แรงค์ เทสต์ พบว่านักเรียนมีคะแนนหลังดูสื่อเพิ่มขึ้นอย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติที่ระดับนัยสำคัญ 0.05 ดังนั้นการดูสื่อโสตทัศน์ทำให้นักเรียนมีความรู้และสามารถตรวจหาฟันผุด้วยตนเองได้ถูกต้องเพิ่มขึ้น 0.05 อย่างไรก็ดีความสามารถในการตรวจเฉพาะฟันผุของนักเรียนในกลุ่ม

Other Abstract (Other language abstract of ETD)

The aim of this study was to test ability to self-detect caries in a group of sixth grade students after viewing the audio-visual media. The study population consisted of 75 students at the Banmarkkhaeng School, Udonthani Province, 10 -13 years old, who had 24 permanent teeth. The students were divided into control and experimental group by simple random sampling. Ten pictures of carious and non-carious teeth were used in a questionnaire to test knowledge. The students performed a self dental examination on each tooth by using mirrors and recorded their findings on the form. The first tests were done two weeks before and the second tests were done immediately after viewing the media. In post-test, the average knowledge scores in control and experimental group were 4.92 + 1.65 and 7.59 + 1.35, respectively. The students achieved a significant higher score (Indepentent samples t test, p < 0.05). The average ability scores of self dental examination in experimental group and control group were 19.18 + 5.00, and 21.59 + 3.25, respectively. The students’ ability score of self dental examination showed no significant difference (Mann-Whitney U test, p > 0.05). However, analyzing only the ability to define carious teeth, seventeen students in experimental group who had dental caries got the average pre-test score 9.83 + 20.04% and the average post-test score 35.38 + 38.30 %. Using Wilcoxon matched-pairs signed ranks test, the post-test score was significantly increase (p < 0.05). Following viewing the media, the students improved their knowledge and ability to self-detect caries.
