Abstract

การวิจัยครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อวิเคราะห์ลักษณะทั่วไปของแนวคิดชาตินิยมที่ปรากฏในภาพยนตร์แอ็คชั่นไทยจำนวน 11 เรื่อง ที่ออกฉายระหว่างปี พ.ศ. 2540–2551 รวมทั้งศึกษาความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างแนวคิดชาตินิยมในภาพยนตร์แอ็คชั่นไทยดังกล่าวกับบริบททางสังคมไทย การวิจัยครั้งนี้เป็นการวิจัยเชิงคุณภาพ วิเคราะห์ โดยใช้กระบวนการวิเคราะห์เนื้อหา(Content Analysis)และตีความด้วยตนเอง (Interpretive Analysis)ผลการวิจัยพบว่าแนวคิดเรื่องชาตินิยมที่ปรากฏในภาพยนตร์แนวนั้นมีลักษณะร่วมทางองค์ประกอบในการเล่าเรื่องที่สำคัญๆ ได้แก่ 1) ข้อขัดแย้ง โดยความแตกต่างทางด้านเชื้อชาติ นำไปสู่แนวคิดที่ชาติอื่นๆ มีทัศนคติว่าชาติตนเหนือกว่าไทย ตัวอย่างเช่น ชาติตะวันตก เอเชียตะวันออก และประเทศเพื่อนบ้าน จึงรุกรานอาณาเขต ทำร้ายร่างกายคนไทย พูดจาดูถูกคนไทย แต่เนื่องจากคนไทยมีแนวคิดชาตินิยม จึงนำไปสู่การปะทะกันในที่สุด 2) ตัวละคร มักเป็นคนไทยระดับล่างหรือคนธรรมดาที่รักชาติ และบ่อยครั้งที่ต้องอาศัยการร่วมใจสู้ในลักษณะของหมู่คณะ 3) ฉาก ภาพยนตร์แอ็คชั่นไทยเน้นความสมจริง ฉากที่ใช้มักเป็นฉากที่พบเห็นได้ทั่วไปในชีวิต ประจำวัน มีทั้งฉากเมืองและฉากชนบท และ 4) สัญญะ สัญญะสำคัญได้แก่ ความเป็นชาติไทย พระพุทธศาสนา และศิลปวัฒนธรรมไทย กล่าวโดยสรุปได้ว่า เราสามารถแบ่งภาพยนตร์แอ็คชั่นออกเป็น 3 ช่วง ตามลักษณะแนวคิดชาตินิยมที่ปรากฏในเนื้อหา ได้แก่ 1) ภาพยนตร์แอ็คชั่นถวิลหาอดีต (พ.ศ. 2540–2543) 2) ภาพยนตร์แอ็คชั่นเน้นศิลปะการต่อสู้แบบไทยๆ (พ.ศ. 2544–2548) 3) ภาพยนตร์แอ็คชั่นแบบประนีประนอมในเชิงแนวคิดชาตินิยม (พ.ศ. 2549–2551) ภาพยนตร์ทั้งหมดนี้ สะท้อนแนวคิดชาตินิยมโดยเชื่อมโยงผ่านบริบททางสังคมเรื่องวิกฤติเศรษฐกิจไทยในปี พ.ศ. 2540 การรณรงค์“ไทยช่วยไทย" การรุกรานของระบบทุนนิยมและการตอบโต้ของท้องถิ่นนิยม ตลอดจนปัญหาความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างไทยกับประเทศต่างๆ โดยเฉพาะประเทศเพื่อนบ้าน

Other Abstract (Other language abstract of ETD)

The purpose of this study was to analyze the general concept of nationalism in 11 Thai action films released during 1997 to 2008 and to study the relationship between and thai social context nationalism in these action films.The result of this research found that nationalism in these action films represented in four elements which are 1) Conflict ; the national difference made foreign people from Western countries, East asia or neighbour nation believe that they are more civilized than thai people thus they intrude thai terrtorry, harm and look down thai people but thai people are patriotics so the figtht begin. 2) Character ; Protagonist tend to be Anti-hero who is normal people or lower class people which is patriotics. Most of them generally fight in group. 3) Setting ; These action films represent realist settings which are always seen in thai daily life. Setting could be located in city and country 4) Sign ; the main signs are symbolic for Thai Nation, Buddhism and thai culture. In conclusion, These action films can be categorize into 3 Periods which are, namely ; 1) Thai nostalgia action films (1997-2000) 2) Thai action films with thai martial arts style (2001-2003) 3) Thai action films with compromising nationalism (2004-2008) All of these films reflect nationalism which refered to Tom Yam Kung crisis in 1997, Thai Chuay Thai campaign, Invasion of capitalism, Strike back of localism and internaional relaitonship problems between thai and another countries, especially neighbour countries.
