Abstract

วัตถุประสงค์หลักของวิทยานิพนธ์ฉบับนี้คือการวิเคราะห์ว่านวนิยายเรื่อง คาฟกา ออน เดอะ ชอร์ ของฮารูกิ มูราคามิ เป็นงานในแนวสัจนิยมมหัศจรรย์ การศึกษามุ่งเน้นไปที่องค์ประกอบมหัศจรรย์ภายในตัวบท และการสืบหาสายสัมพันธ์ระหว่าง คาฟกา ออน เดอะ ชอร์ กับตัวบทอื่นๆ เนื่องจากกระบวนการสหบทคือเครื่องมือที่สามารถเน้นความเป็นสัจนิยมมหัศจรรย์ของตัวบทให้ชัดเจนยิ่งขึ้น การศึกษาองค์ประกอบมหัศจรรย์ที่แปลกประหลาดและไม่สมเหตุสมผลใน คาฟกา ออน เดอะ ชอร์ ยังจะช่วยให้บรรลุวัตถุประสงค์หลักของวิทยานิพนธ์ฉบับนี้อีกด้วย ปรากฏการณ์มหัศจรรย์ที่เกิดขึ้นในโลกความจริงอย่างเป็นธรรมชาติและเป็นรูปธรรมดังที่ปรากฏใน คาฟกา ออน เดอะ ชอร์ นั้น ได้แสดงให้เห็นถึงการผสมผสานอย่างสลับซับซ้อนระหว่าง “ความจริง" และ “ความลวง" ลักษณะดังกล่าววิพากษ์กระบวนทัศน์แบบสัจนิยมที่มีแนวโน้มจะแบ่งแยกสิ่งต่างๆ ออกเป็นขั้วตรงข้าม องค์ประกอบมหัศจรรย์ใน คาฟกา ออน เดอะ ชอร์ มีบทบาทในการโต้กลับเพื่อวิพากษ์เรื่องเล่าแม่บท เช่นอุดมการณ์ชาตินิยม การเข้าครอบงำของตะวันตก และระบบทุนนิยม จากหลากหลายแง่มุม ในสังคมทุนนิยมสมัยใหม่ ความมหัศจรรย์ทำหน้าที่เป็นเสมือนกระจกที่สะท้อนสภาพจิตอันบิดเบี้ยวและตัวตนที่แปลกแยกของตัวละครที่ดำเนินชีวิตภายใต้กรอบของสังคมทุนนิยม อาจกล่าวโดยสรุปได้ว่า คาฟกา ออน เดอะ ชอร์ เป็นงานในแนวสัจนิยมมหัศจรรย์ซึ่งนำเสนอธรรมชาติของความจริงในยุคหลังสมัยใหม่ที่ผสมผสานกันอย่างหลากหลายและเลื่อนไหลจนกระทั่งไม่อาจเข้าถึงได้ด้วยระบบเหตุผลหรืออายตนะทั้งห้า

Other Abstract (Other language abstract of ETD)

The main objective of this thesis is to analyse how Haruki Murakami’s Kafka on the Shore can be considered a magical realist novel. The study focuses on magical elements in the text and examines the relationship between Kafka on the Shore and other texts, as intertextuality can be used to shed light on its magical realist features. The study of the odd and illogical magical elements in Kafka on the Shore also contributes to the verification of the main objective. Magical occurrences that naturally and concretely arise in the real world in Kafka on the Shore demonstrate the complex fusion between “the real" and “the unreal". This characteristic subverts the realist paradigm which divides things into oppositional poles. Magical elements in Kafka on the Shore play subversive roles, for they are used to criticize the grand narratives of various spheres: nationalism, western domination as well as capitalism. In modern capitalist society, magic in Kafka on the Shore also functions as a mirror that reflects the perverted mind and the alienated selves of the characters who live under the control of capitalism. In conclusion, Kafka on the Shore is a magical realist fiction which presents the hybrid and fluid nature of postmodern reality that cannot be gauged by rational logic or physical senses.
