Abstract

วิทยานิพนธ์ฉบับนี้มีจุดมุ่งหมายเพื่อศึกษา ลิลิตเสด็จไปขัดทัพพม่าเมืองกาญจนบุรีพระราชนิพนธ์ในสมเด็จพระบวรราชเจ้ามหาศักดิพลเสพ ในฐานะที่เป็นนิราศเดินทัพ รวมทั้งศึกษาประวัติศาสตร์การสงคราม สังคมและธรรมชาติที่ปรากฏในเรื่อง จากการศึกษาพบว่าลิลิตเสด็จไปขัดทัพพม่าฯเป็นนิราศเดินทัพที่มีเนื้อคร่ำครวญถึงผู้เป็นที่รักและพรรณนาการเดินทางไปขัดทัพพม่าที่เมืองหน้าด่านในสมัยพระบาทสมเด็จพระพุทธเลิศหล้านภาลัย เมื่อ พ.ศ. 2363 วรรณคดีเรื่องนี้สืบทอดฉันทลักษณ์และลีลาการแต่งมาจากลิลิตพระลอ สืบทอดโวหารนิราศมาจากนิราศสมัยกรุงศรีอยุธยา ทั้งยังมีลักษณะเด่นในการพรรณนาการเดินทางอย่างละเอียดเป็นความรู้ การคร่ำครวญถึงผู้เป็นที่รักซึ่งมีตัวตนจริงเป็นที่รู้จัก และการบรรยายเรื่องราวการสงครามเป็นความรู้จากการไปราชการศึกจริง สำหรับการศึกษาประวัติศาสตร์การสงครามในเรื่องพบว่ามีความขัดแย้งกับข้อมูลในหลักฐานทางประวัติศาสตร์ กล่าวคือ ในลิลิตเสด็จไปขัดทัพพม่าฯ สมเด็จพระบวรราชเจ้ามหาศักดิพลเสพเสด็จไปขัดทัพพม่าที่เมืองราชบุรี แต่หลักฐานทางประวัติศาสตร์บันทึกไว้ว่าพระองค์เสด็จไปขัดทัพที่เมืองเพชรบุรี ทั้งนี้สันนิษฐานได้ว่าอาจมีการเปลี่ยนแปลงสถานที่ซึ่งไม่ได้บันทึกไว้ในหลักฐานทางประวัติศาสตร์ หรือสมเด็จพระบวรราชเจ้ามหาศักดิพลเสพอาจดูแลทั้งเมืองราชบุรีและเมืองเพชรบุรี โดยตั้งทัพอยู่ที่เมืองราชบุรีซึ่งเป็นชัยภูมิที่เหมาะสมสามารถป้องกันพม่าที่จะเข้ามาทั้งทางด่านเมืองราชบุรีและด่านใกล้เมืองเพชรบุรี วรรณคดีเรื่องนี้บันทึกรายละเอียดเกี่ยวกับการสงครามครั้ง พ.ศ. 2363 ทั้งการจัดกระบวนการพยุหยาตรา การทำพิธีกรรมเกี่ยวกับการสงคราม การสร้างค่าย การยกทัพไปตรวจด่านชายแดน โดยใช้วิธีการเล่าประวัติศาสตร์ 3 แบบ คือการเล่าบรรยายเหตุการณ์ การเล่าสรุปเหตุการณ์ และการเล่าเหตุการณ์ย้อนอดีต ลิลิตเสด็จไปขัดทัพพม่าฯยังได้สะท้อนสภาพสังคมและธรรมชาติ ทั้งสังคมภายในกาองทัพที่แสดงถึงความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างจอมทัพผู้มีอำนาจสูงสุดกับขุนนาง ทหารและไพร่ ส่วนสังคมภายนอกประชาชนประกอบอาชีพตามความเหมาะสมในแต่ละท้องถิ่น ซึ่งมีความหลากหลายทางธรรมชาติทั้งพืชและสัตว์ ทั้งยังสะท้อนความเชื่อเกี่ยวกับผีและไสยศาสตร์ ความเชื่อทางศาสนาพุทธ และความเชื่อในสถานที่ศักดิ์สิทธิ์ต่างๆ ซึ่งเป็นที่ยึดเหนี่ยวทางจิตใจของผู้คนในยามสงคราม

Other Abstract (Other language abstract of ETD)

The objective of this thesis is to study Lilit Sadet Pai Khat Thap Phama Muang Kanchanburi, a royal poetic work by Somdet Pha Bovoraratchao Maha Sakdipholasep, the Front Palace King of King Rama III. The work contains an account of the war between Siam and Burma in 1830 A.D., the rural life of Thai people, and the unspoiled nature on the way to the battle-pass. The result of the study shows that the content of the work records the detailed account of the journey mingling with the lamentation of the Front Palace King towards his beloved wife, Princess Darawadi, and their bay son, H.R.H. Prince Issaraphong. As far as the technique of writing is concerned, the writer was influenced by old Thai celebrated works of the Ayudhya period, particularly Lilit Pra Lor for its compositional technique of love genre, and by old travelogues (nirat) for traveling description. From historical side, the study reveals conflicts between this Lilit and historical information namely the Thai royal chronicles as far as the strategic dates and sites of the war are concemed. The reason can be assumed as the changes of both did take place but might not be recorded. Another possibility is that the Front Palace King, as the Commander-in-Chief might be in charge of both Ratchaburi and Petchaburi, the two Thai border strongholds. This Lilit gives invaluable details of old Thai war treatise and strategy including the selection of auspicious dates, colours, clothing, and rites. The description of the royal barge and elephant processions is splendid.
