Abstract

งานวิจัยนี้มีจุดประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างเสียงกับความหมายหรือระบบสัทอรรถลักษณะในภาษาไทยวนหรือคำเมืองเชียงใหม่ (อำเภอหางดง) โดยข้อมูลที่นำมาศึกษา คือ คำแฝงอารมณ์ความรู้สึกจากเอกสารและจากข้อมูลภาคสนาม ในการวิเคราะห์หาความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างเสียงกับความหมายนั้น ผู้วิจัยได้แบ่งคำแฝงอารมณ์ความรู้สึกออกเป็น 2 ประเภทใหญ่ๆ คือ คำแฝงอารมณ์ความรู้สึกที่เสียงกับความหมายเชื่อมโยงกันแบบสมบูรณ์ และ คำแฝงอารมณ์ความรู้สึกที่เสียงกับความหมายเชื่อมโยงกันแบบสัญบัญญัติ หรือ แบบการตกลงกำหนดขึ้น และได้แยกข้อมูลออกตามการรับรู้ผ่านประสาทสัมผัสต่างๆ คือ หู ตา จมูก ลิ้น สัมผัส ซึ่งผลการวิเคราะห์ข้อมูลพบว่าส่วนประกอบทุกส่วนของคำแฝงอารมณ์ความรู้สึกภาษาไทยวนสามารถแสดงความสัมพันธ์กับความหมายได้ กล่าวคือ เสียงพยัญชนะต้นและเสียงพยัญชนะท้ายมีความสัมพันธ์กับความหมาย ในด้านการเคลื่อนไหวและการเคลื่อนที่รวมถึงคุณสมบัติบางประการของสิ่งที่กล่าวถึง ส่วนเสียงสระมีความสัมพันธ์กับความหมายในด้านขนาด ปริมาณและรูปร่าง และการซํ้าพยางค์แสดงว่าเหตุการณ์นั้นๆเกิดขึ้นหลายครั้งหรือสิ่งที่พูดถึงนั้นมีหลายขนาดและหลายอันซึ่ง การที่เสียงดังกล่าวแสดงความสัมพันธ์กับความหมายนั้นสามารถอธิบายได้ในทางสัทศาสตร์

Other Abstract (Other language abstract of ETD)

The objective of this research is to study the relationship between sound and meaning in Tai Yuan expressives. The data used for this analysis come from available published materials and field data collected from Hangdong district. The data have been divided mainly into 2 types according to their link to meanings: complete link and completely conventional link. Moreover the data have been divided into 5 perception subtypes: ear, eye, tongue, nose and touch. The findings reveal that all phonological components can convey meanings. Initial and final consonants convey the manner of movement and quality; vowels convey size, quantity and shape; and reduplications convey the ideas of plurality. The relationship between sound and meaning in Tai Yuan expressives can therefore be phonetically explained.
