Abstract

การวิจัยนี้ มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาจำนวน ลักษณะ ประเภท แหล่งที่มา และการประเมินคุณสมบัติภาพ ข่าวหน้าหนึ่งของหนังสือพิมพ์รายวันประเภทประชานิยม ได้แก่ ไทยรัฐ เดลินิวส และข่าวสดรวมไปถึงการสัมภาษณ์ ผู้มีส่วนเกี่ยวข้องในการคัดเลือกและนำเสนอภาพข่าวหน้าหนึ่งของหนังสือพิมพ์แต่ละชื่อฉบับ อีกทั้งการสำรวจความคิดเห็นของนักวิชาการและนักศึกษาด้านวารสารศาสตร์จาก 6 มหาวิทยาลัย ได้แก่ จุฬาลงกรณ์มหาวิทยาลัย มหาวิทยาลัยธรรมศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยเกษตรศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยหอการค้าไทย มหาวิทยาลัยกรุงเทพ และ มหาวิทยาลัยรังสิต ที่มีต่อภาพข่าวหน้าหนึ่งของหนังสือพิมพ์รายวันประเภทประชานิยม ผลการวิจัยพบว่า หนังสือพิมพ์รายวันประเภทประชานิยมทั้ง 3 ชื่อฉบับมีจำนวนภาพข่าวหน้าหนึ่งมากน้อยแตกต่างกันไป ส่วนลักษณะของภาพข่าวในหน้าหนึ่ง พบว่า หนังสือพิมพ์รายวันประเภทประชานิยมเสนอภาพ ข่าว ณ ที่เกิดเหตุมากกว่าภาพข่าวที่เตรียมไว้ล่วงหน้า ประเภทของภาพข่าวที่หนังสือพิมพ์ประเภทนี้นำเสนอในหน้าหนึ่งมากที่สุดคือ ภาพข่าวอุบัติเหตุ อาชญากรรม ภัยพิบัติ รองลงมาคือ ภาพข่าวการเมืองการทหาร ภาพข่าว บันเทิง ส่วนภาพข่าวการศึกษาและภาพข่าวกีฬามีจำนวนนำเสนอน้อยที่สุด การประเมินคุณสมบัติของภาพข่าวหน้าหนึ่งของหนังสือพิมพ์รายวันประเภทประชานิยม พบว่า ภาพข่าวหน้าหนึ่งของหนังสือพิมพ์รายวันประเภทประชานิยม มีคุณสมบัติทางกายภาพอยู่ในเกณฑ์ที่ดี คุณสมบัติด้านเนี้อหานั้น ภาพข่าวหน้าหนึ่งส่วนมากมีคุณสมบัติด้านความเด่นและการสื่อความหมายได้ตรงกับเนี้อหาข่าวมากที่สุด จากการสำรวจความคิดเห็นของนักวิชาการและนักศึกษาล้านวารสารศาสตร์ที่มีต่อภาพข่าวหน้าหนึ่งของ หนังสือพิมพ์รายวันประเภทประชานิยม พบว่า นักวิชาการ และนักศึกษาด้านวารสารศาสตร์ มีความคิดเห็นต่อภาพข่าวหน้าหนึ่งของหนังสือพิมพ์รายวันประเภทประชานิยมไม่แตกต่างกัน จากการสัมภาษณ์ผู้มีส่วนในการคัดเลือกภาพข่าวหน้าหนึ่งของหนังสือพิมพ์รายวันประเภทประชานิยมพบว่า ผู้มีส่วนในการคัดเลือกภาพข่าวหน้าหนึ่งได้คัดเลือกภาพเหตุการณ์ข้อเท็จจริงที่เกิดขึ้น และนำเสนอด้วยความรวด เร็วและตรงไปตรงมา โดยพิจารณาจากความเด่นและผลกระทบต่อสังคมเป็นหลัก

Other Abstract (Other language abstract of ETD)

The aim of this research is to study the volume, characteristics, type, source and quality of front page news photos of popular daily newspapers, namely, Thai Rath, Daily News and Khao Sod, in addition to interviewing the people who are involved in selecting and presenting front page news photos for each newspaper. The research also includes a survey of the opinion of journalism scholars and students from six universities, namely, Chulalongkorn University, Thammasat University, Kasetsart University, Thai Chamber of Commerce University, Bangkok University and Rangsit University regarding front page news photos of popular daily newspapers. The findings reveal that all three popular daily newspapers contain different volume of front page news photos. As regards the characteristics of front page news photos, it is found that popular daily newspapers present news photos taken at the site of the event more often than those prepared in advance. The type of news photos most frequently presented on the front page of these newspapers are those dealing with accident, crime and Disaster. Less frequently presented news photos are those dealing with politics, military affair and entertainment. The least frequently presented are news photos dealing with education and sports. In assessing the quality of front page news photos of popular daily newspapers, it is found that the physical quality is good, the content is outstanding and correlates well with the news content. The survey of the opinion of journalism scholars and students regarding front page news photos of popular daily newspapers reveals that there is no significant difference in their opinions towards front page news photos. The interview of the people who are involved in selecting front page news photos of popular daily newspapers reveals that they select news photos of actual events and present them in a prompt and straightforward manner based upon their outstandingness and impact upon society.
