Abstract

วัตถุประสงค์ของวิทยานิพนธ์ฉบับนี้เพื่อวิเคราะห์ถึงบทบาท ตลอดจนประเด็นในการสะท้อน และวิพากษ์วิจารณ์สังคมของนิตยสารแนววรรณกรรมไทย ระหว่าง พ.ศ. 2520 ถึง พ.ศ. 2539 โดยศึกษาจากนิตยสารแนววรรณกรรม 4 ฉบับ ได้แก่ นิตยสาร โลกหนังสือ ช่อการะเกด ถนนหนังสือ และ Writer ซึ่งในแต่ละฉบับจะศึกษาจากเนื้อหาของนิตยสาร 3 ส่วน ได้แก่ บทบรรณาธิการ เรื่องจากปก และงานวรรณกรรมประเภทเรื่องสั้น ผลการวิจัยพบว่า นิตยสารแนววรรณกรรมเป็นสื่อสิ่งพิมพ์อีกประเภทหนึ่งที่มุ่งแสดงบทบาท ตามความคาดหวังของทฤษฎีโครงสร้างและหน้าที่ของสื่อมวลชน (Theory of Media Structure and Function) ได้แก่ การแสดงบทบาทในการรายงานและสอดส่องสังคม (Surveillance) การแสดงบทบาท ในการเชื่อมโยงตีความเหตุการณ์ต่าง ๆ ในสังคม (Correlation) การแสดงบทบาทในการถ่ายทอดมรดกทางวัฒนธรรมให้แก่สังคม (Transmission) และการแสดงบทบาทในการระดมพลังการเคลื่อนไหวต่าง ๆ ในสังคม (Mobilization) ทั้งนี้ บทบรรณาธิการเน้นแสดงบทบาทในการเชื่อมโยงตีความเหตุการณ์ต่าง ๆ ในสังคม เรื่องจากปกเน้นแสดงบทบาทในการถ่ายทอดมรดกทางวัฒนธรรมให้กับสังคม ส่วนวรรณกรรม ประเภทเรื่องสั้นเน้นแสดงบทบาทในการรายงานและสอดส่องสังคม ในด้านประเด็นการนำเสนอ จากการศึกษาพบว่านิตยสารแนววรรณกรรมมีการนำเสนอประเด็น ที่หลากหลาย ทั้งทางด้านการเมืองการปกครอง เศรษฐกิจ สังคม และวัฒนธรรม โดยบทบรรณาธิการ และเรื่องจากปกเน้นนำเสนอประเด็นเกี่ยวกับวัฒนธรรม ส่วนวรรณกรรมประเภทเรื่องสั้น เน้นนำเสนอ ประเด็นทางสังคม ประเด็นดังกล่าวนี้ นิตยสารมุ่งสะท้อนและวิพากษ์วิจารณ์ด้านลบเป็นหลัก ดังนั้นภาพของสังคมที่ถูกนำเสนอจึงเป็นภาพเพียงด้านเดียวเท่านั้น ในด้านคุณค่าของนิตยสาร พบว่าแม้ในแง่เนื้อหาส่วนใหญ่จะเน้นนำเสนอภาพด้านลบเพียงด้าน เดียว แต่ก็มีความสอดคล้องกับความเป็นจริงและมีคุณค่าในด้านการเตือนภัยให้สังคมรับทราบเพื่อหาทาง แก้ไข แต่เนื่องจากนิตยสารแนววรรณกรรมเป็นหนังสือเฉพาะกลุ่มซึ่งไม่ได้รับความสนใจหรือแพร่หลายนัก ดังนั้นความสามารถในการกระจายสารไปสู่สังคมจึงมีอยู่น้อยมาก คุณค่าของนิตยสารจึงเป็นคุณค่าต่อปัจเจกบุคคลมากกว่าจะเป็นคุณค่าต่อสังคมโดยตรง อย่างไรก็ดี การที่มีคุณค่าต่อปัจเจกบุคคลดังกล่าวนี้ ก็อาจมีผลต่อสังคมได้ในทางอ้อม

Other Abstract (Other language abstract of ETD)

This thesis is mainly aimed to study and analyze roles of Thai literary magazines during 1977 and 1996 in reflecting and commenting the society on important issues. Editorials, cover stories and short stories in the following four literary magazines: Loke Nangsue, Chore Karaked, Thanon Nangsue and Writer, are studied. Literary magazine is proved a printing media having its vital objective to express its role in accordance with the Theory of Media Structure and Function. It plays its significant roles in reporting and surveillance of society, social correlation, culture transmission to society and mobilization in society. The editorial focuses to express its role of social correlation whereas the cover story and the short story significantly show their roles in culture transmission to society and in reporting & surveillance of society, respectively. Regarding to the presentation, various crucial points in political, economic, social and cultural fields are presented by the literary magazine. The editorial and the cover story mainly present cultural point of views whereas the short story emphasizes social movement. The literary magazine strongly reflects the dark perspective of Thai society. However, the presentation of this tragic truth help warning the society, so that the solutions will be sought. Since the literary magazine reached only certain audience its unpopularity limited its own value which profited only individual who read it unless the individuals manifest the value to the society.
