Abstract

การศึกษาครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์สามประการคือ ประการแรกเพื่อศึกษาการมีส่วนร่วมทางการเมืองของผู้สูงอายุปราจีนบุรี ประการที่สองเพื่อศึกษาปัจจัยที่ส่งผลต่อการมีส่วนร่วมทางการเมืองของผู้สูงอายุปราจีนบุรี และประการสุดท้ายเพื่อหาแนวทางในการกระตุ้นและสนับสนุนให้ผู้สูงอายุได้เข้าไปมีส่วนร่วมทางการเมืองมากยิ่งขึ้น ข้อมูลที่ใช้ในการศึกษามาจากการวิจัยภาคสนาม กลุ่มตัวอย่างคือผู้สูงอายุที่เป็นสมาชิกของชมรมผู้สูงอายุจังหวัดปราจีนบุรี จำนวน 550 ราย โดยใช้วิธีการสัมภาษณ์กลุ่มตัวอย่างเพื่อเก็บรวบรวมข้อมูลตามแบบสอบถาม ผลการวิเคราะห์โดยใช้ค่าเฉลี่ย พบว่า จากตัวแปรอิสระทั้งหมด 13 ตัว มีตัวแปรอิสระ 11 ตัว ที่ส่งผลต่อค่าเฉลี่ยการมีส่วนร่วมทางการเมืองของผู้สูงอายุ อย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติที่ระดับ 0.05 และเป็นไปตามสมมุติฐาน ได้แก่ เพศ อายุ สถานภาพสมรส ระดับการศึกษา การเป็นหัวหน้าครัวเรือน เขตที่อยู่อาศัย ความสนใจทางการเมือง ระดับการรับข่าวสารการเมือง ระดับความรู้ทางการเมือง การเป็นสมาชิกของกลุ่มทางสังคมและระดับการมีส่วนร่วมในกิจกรรมทางสังคม ผลการวิเคราะห์ตัวแปรหลายตัวด้วยวิธีถดถอยพหุ พบว่า กลุ่มตัวแปรอิสระทั้งหมดสามารถอธิบายความแปรผันของการมีส่วนร่วมทางการเมืองของผู้สูงอายุได้ประมาณร้อยละ 23.0 และภายหลังจากการควบคุมอิทธิพลของตัวแปรอิสระอื่นๆ แล้ว พบว่า มีตัวแปรอิสระ 6 ตัว ได้แก่ อาชีพ เขตที่อยู่อาศัย ความสนใจทางการเมือง ระดับความรู้ทางการเมือง การเป็นสมาชิกของกลุ่มทางสังคมและระดับการมีส่วนร่วมในกิจกรรมทางสังคม มีอิทธิพลต่อการมีส่วนร่วมทางการเมืองของผู้สูงอายุ ส่วนผลการวิเคราะห์ตัวแปรหลายตัวด้วยวิธีถดถอยพหุแบบขั้นตอน พบว่า ระดับความรู้ทางการเมืองสามารถอธิบายการแปรผันของการมีส่วนร่วมทางการเมืองของผู้สูงอายุได้ดีที่สุด (ร้อยละ 12.9)

Other Abstract (Other language abstract of ETD)

This study has three main purposes: 1) to study political participation of the elderly in Prachinburi; 2) to study factors affecting political participation of the elderly in Prachinburi; 3) to find the way to encourage and facilitate political participation of the elderly. The data has been obtained from the survey, 550 of elderly who are members of the elderly club in Prachinburi were interviewed. The analysis of the mean value reveals that out of 13 independent variables, 11 variables have statistically affected on political participation of the elderly in accordance with the hypotheses. These are gender, age, marital status, level of education, head of household, place of residence, political interest, level of political information, level of political knowledge, member of community group and level of participation in social activities. The multiple regression analysis indicates that all of independent variables can explain variation in political participation of the elderly by 23.0 percent. After controlling other independent variables, only 6 independent variables; occupation, place of residence, political interest, level of political knowledge, member of community group and level of participation in social activities have influenced on political participation of the elderly. The stepwise multiple regression analysis reveals that level of political knowledge is the best variable that can explain the variation in political participation of the elderly (12.9 percent).
