Abstract
การวิจัยนี้มีจุดมุ่งหมายที่จะใช้วิธีการทางสถิติ สร้างแบบการคัดเลือกผู้สมัครเข้าศึกษาตามสาขาวิชายูเนสโก โดยอาศัยคะแนนสอบไล่ปลายปีชั้นมัธยมศึกษาปีที่ 5 เป็นเกณฑ์ ในการวิจัยได้ใช้ข้อมูลที่ได้จากการสุ่มตัวอย่าง จำนวน 2190 คน จากผู้สมัครเข้าศึกษาในสถานศึกษาอุดมศึกษา ปีการศึกษา 2517 ทั้งผู้ทีสอบคัดเลือกเข้าได้และที่สอบคัดเลือกเข้าไม่ได้ โดยที่ผู้สมัครดังกล่าวเป็นผู้ที่จบชั้นมัธยมศึกษาปีที่ 5 ในปีการศึกษา 2115 และ 2516 แล้วใช้วิธีการถดถอยเป็นขั้นตอนวิเคราะห์ข้อมูล ผลของการวิจัยสรุปได้ว่า หมวดหรือรายวิชาที่ควรนำเป็นเกณฑ์ในการพิจารณาคัดเลือกนักเรียนเข้าศึกษาตามสาขาวิชาทางวิทยาศาสตร์ คือ หมวดภาษาอังกฤษ หมวดคณิตศาสตร์ และรายวิชาในหมวดวิทยาศาสตร์ภาคทฤษฎี โดยที่แต่ละหมวดหรือรายวิชามีความสำคัญสำหรับแต่ละวิชาต่างกันไป สำหรับสาขาวิชาทางศิลปะนั้น วิชาที่ควรนำมาเป็นเกณฑ์ในการพิจารณาคัดเลือกนักเรียน คือ หมวดภาษาอังกฤษ หมวดภาษาไทย หมวดคณิตศาสตร์ วิชาวิทยาศาสตร์ทั่วไป และวิชาเลือกเฉพาะสายศิลปะ โดยที่น้ำหนักสำหรับแต่ละหมวดหรือรายวิชาที่จะนำมาใช้เป็นเกณฑ์ในการคัดเลือกนักเรียนเข้าตามสาขาวิชาต่าง ๆ นั้นแตกต่างกัน
Other Abstract (Other language abstract of ETD)
The purpose of this research is to develop statistical models for selection of students for higher education on the basis of secondary education final examination scores. The fields of study under consideration will be based on UNESCO classification. The data used in this research are the scores of 2190 students from the whole population of candidates for the higher education entrance examination for the academic year 1974. The population includes both successful and unsuccessful candidates. The candidates considered in the sample are those graduated from secondary school (M.S.5) in the academic years 1972 and 1973. The procedure of stepwise regression is used to analyze the data.
