Abstract

ข้อปัญหา วัตถุประสงค์สำคัญของการศึกษาในโครงการนี้คือเพื่อค้นหาแนวทางที่ถูกต้องสำหรับการวางผังมหาวิทยาลัยในประเทศไทยโดยเฉพาะอย่างยิ่งผังแม่บทของสถาบันเทคโนโลยีพระจอมเกล้าศูนย์ลาดกระบัง เพราะว่า มหาวิทยาลัยในประเทศไทยถึงแม้จะมีมาเป็นเวลาเกือบ 60ปีก็ตามแต่ก็ไม่มีมหาวิทยาลัยแห่งใดที่มีการวางผังแม่บทสำหรับมหาวิทยาลัยอย่างถูกต้องซึ่งได้ก่อให้เกิดความสูญเสียทางด้านการศึกษาและเศรษฐกิจแก่ชาติเป็นอันมากและสถาบันเทคโนโลยีพระจอมเกล้าศูนย์ลาดกระบังแห่งนี้ก็เป็นสถานศึกษาระดับอุดมศึกษาแห่งล่าสุดที่จัดสร้างขึ้นในสถานศึกษาแห่งใหม่จึงเห็นสมควรที่จะต้องมีการวางผังแม่บทสำหรับสถานศึกษาแห่งนี้เพื่อเป็นการป้องกันไม่ให้เกิดเป็นมหาวิทยาลัยที่ขาดผังมหาวิทยาลัยอย่างถูกต้องที่เป็นอยู่กับเกือบทุกมหาวิทยาลัยในประเทศไทย วิธีการวิจัยเพื่อให้สามารถกำหนดผังให้สอดคล้องกับลักษณะความต้องการและพฤติกรรมของมหาวิทยาลัย ผู้วิจัยได้ทำการศึกษาดังนี้คือลักษณะของการจัดการศึกษาระดับอุดมศึกษาของอังกฤษสหรัฐอเมริกาและของประเทศไทย 2.พฤติกรรมหรือลักษณะของมหาวิทยาลัยตามกาลเวลาที่เปลี่ยนไปทั้งของต่างประเทศและในประเทศไทย 3.ความต้องการพื้นฐานทางกายภาคที่จะประกอบขึ้นเป็นมหาวิทยาลัย 4.สภาพอดีตและปัจจุบันของสถาบันเทคโนโลยีพระจอมเกล้าศูนย์ลาดกระบังทั้งทางด้านการใช้ที่ดิน สิ่งปลูกสร้าง จำนวนประชากรความรู้สึกของประชากรต่อสถานศึกษา ผลของการให้การศึกษาและการสังคม สรุปการวิจัย จากการวิจัยปรากฏผลดังนี้คือ 1.1.มหาวิทยาลัยในประเทศไทยส่วนใหญ่ขาดโครงการศึกษาระยะยาวซึ่งเห็นเหตุให้การวางผังแม่บทมหาวิทยาลัยเป็นไปได้ยาก 2.มหาวิทยาลัยมีการขยายตัวตามกาลเวลาและความต้องการของสังคม 3.มหาวิทยาลัยไม่ได้ประกอบด้วยส่วนการศึกษาอย่างเดียวแต่ประกอบด้วยองค์ประกอบหลายๆด้าน เช่น การพักอาศัย การสังคมและสิ่งสนับสนุนการศึกษา เป็นต้น 4.ระยะห่างระหว่างที่พักอาศัยกับสถานศึกษามีผลกระทบกระเทือนต่อการเรียนของนักศึกษา 5. สิ่งแวดล้อมภายในมหาวิทยาลัยรวมทั้งการวางผังและการออกแบบการใช้อาคารในมหาวิทยาลัยมีผลกระทบกระเทือนต่อการเรียนของนักศึกษา ข้อเสนอแนะ 1.ต้องมีการวางผังแม่บทสำหรับมหาวิทยาลัยทุกมหาวิทยาลัยไว้ล่วงหน้า2.ต้องมีการเตรียมการสำหรับการขยายตัวในผังแม่บทของมหาวิทยาลัยและควรเป็นลักษณะที่สามารถรับการขยายตัวทุกประเภท ทุกขนาดเพราะการกำหนดโครงการศึกษาระยะยาวคงเป็นไปได้ยาก 3.สถาบันเทคโนโลยีพระจอมเกล้าศูนย์ลาดกระบังควรขยายบริเวณสถานศึกษาให้มีพื้นที่มากขึ้น 4.ระบบการสัญจรในสถาบันเทคโนโลยีพระจอมเกล้าศูนย์ลาดกระบังควรเป็นระบบางเดินเท้าเพราะจากทุกตำแหน่งในบริเวณสถานศึกษาสามารถเดินมายังศูนย์กลางสถานศึกษาภายในเวลา 10 นาที 5.สถาบันเทคโนโลยีพระจอมเกล้าศูนย์ลาดกระบังควรจัดให้มีองค์ประกอบครบทั้งด้านการศึกษา การอยู่อาศัยและการสังคม6. ควรแยกให้บริเวณพักอาศัยของสถานศึกษาออกจากบริเวณการศึกษาโดยมีศูนย์กลางมหาวิทยาลัยกั้นกลาง 7.อาคารในองค์ประกอบการศึกษาควรมีลักษณะเหมาะสมสำหรับการศึกษาแบบลงทะเบียนร่วม 8.มหาวิทยาลัยควรมีบริเวณสำหรับหาเงินผลประโยชน์เพื่อเพิ่มรายได้แก่สถานศึกษาอันจะเป็นส่วนช่วยให้สถานศึกษาสามารถดำเนินการตามนโยบายด้วยความอิสระจากรัฐบาลมากขึ้น

Other Abstract (Other language abstract of ETD)

The main purpose of this study is to research for problem incampus planning in Thailand and to lay out a master plan for KingMongkut’s Institute of Technology at Ladkrabang. AlthoughThailand has had higher education for almost 60 years, only afew universities have long-term planning program. The situationhas damaged the education and economy of the country. It isessential to provide a master plan for the campus of the KingMongkut’s Institute of Technology which has recently beenestablished.To formulate concepts and oritcria for campusplanning the following studies were made: 1. A comparativeanalysis of the system of higher education in Great Britain, UnitedStates and Thailand. 2. Investigating the pattern of growth andchanges over times of Universities in Thailand and othercountries. 3. Examining the basic physical elements and theirrelations of campuses. 4. A survey of the past and presentconditions of King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology LadkrabangCampus in various aspects such as land use, building structure,its population characteristics, sence of community and social lifeas well as the results of education. The following general findingsand recommendation can be concluded : 1. The lack of long-termacademic planning and campus master plans widens the gapbetween social needs and education responsibility. The growth ofuniversities should be planned. 2. The social and physicalenvironments of campus can inserts significant impacts uponacademic results. A greater social opportunity in campus shouldbe recognized. 3. The spatial relationship between the residentialand academic facilities is an importance factor in the academicperformance of students. A proposal for King Mongkut’s Instituteof Technology : 1. The Ladkrabang campus should prepareadditional land for future expansion. The piece of land on thesouth between Klong Pravet and Soi Onnuj should be comed bythe University. 2. The present looking social and residentialfaoilities is rather critical. By all mean, they should be providedwithin a decade to become a complete education community. 3.The social activities should be located at the center of thecampus linking both the academic and residential zone. 4. Itshould be a pedestrian community. Vehicular interference wouldbe minimized. 5. The greatest walking distance (vertical andhorizontal) between various units of the academic core should notbe more than a 10-minute walk. The academic facilities thus canserve a cross registration education function. 6. A part of the landshould be allocated for income producing activities such asshopping facilities. Thus the University can be more independentform the government in terms of financial support.
